  1. Looking Forward...

Yes, I am a Horn fan. Sorry about that. On most boards, I am Nytehorn, but on this one, I used my e-mail address for some reason. Exactly Yertle, that is what I want to find out. tOSU defense is one of the best in the nation in just about every catagory. As in "05, the best LB corp we will see...
  2. Looking Forward...

to talking X's and O's with you guys again. I had a great experience on this board in the past. I know it is not where you expected to be at the beginning of the season, but congrats on a great year, and another BCS bowl! :)

Very true MB. I just hope we don't have to wait another 100+ years before we play each other again. This could be a great home/home every 5 years or so.
  4. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Congrats Buckeyes on a great win! We did pretty well at moving the ball, just couldn't make the plays needed to score, like you guys did. Smith stayed composed the entire night, and seemed to always find the right receiver. He played excellent. Defense gave up some yards to us, but buckled down...

Man!! 6,000 is PERFECT temperature for grilling Pittsburg,Tx hotlinks!!! I had planned on only grilling about 2 dozen, but might as well go for 5 dozen, and put shame on that Japanese power eater !!!! Hotdogs are easy...let him try eating 57 Pittsburg hotlinks, with grease spurting at...

Texasize, I was in no way saying he was a loser, just inexperienced. Brown is arguably one of the top 3 corners in the country. I did say he should be able to hold his own in an earlier post.
  7. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

I just want to say once again, this is the classiest board on the web !! The greater majority of the posters on this site, are knowledgable, non flamers, and want to discuss college football. Thank you for allowing me on your board, and letting me hear your point of views, as well as...

The DL and LB's will be a BIG part in helping protect the newbie. If, and only if, they can take care of the run, he can just concentrate on the pass. I personally, don't see that happening. He will have to make several run/pass reads, and make the right decision.
  9. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

I am sure we will have to DT him in OBVIOUS passing downs. The question is, can we put tOSU in enough of those to protect him??
  10. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

The reason for this Bucktwenty, is that he was the one assigned to stop a heisman trophy candidate. Now we have to rely on his backup. Not good odds.

VERY true Daddy...Brown is a superb tackler, and you are right, that could be missed more than the coverage.
  12. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

I think he will hold his own, but he obviously will get beat a couple of times. Hopefully, it will be for 2 twenty yard first downs, and not 2 forty yard TOUCHDOWNS !! :wink2:
  13. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

It will be junior Ryan Palmer....no where near the talent of Brown
  14. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Austin... It has been pleasant this week, but is getting warmer. High supposed to be 98, but humidity has been very low this week. It has been 85%, but this week has dropped to 30% average. Should be a nice evening, unless some rain comes in. Plan on grilling some Pittsburg,Tx hot links, which...
  15. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

After Watching both.... of us today, Texas has a ways to go to play with tOSU. Yes, the score was 56-7, QB looked great, but the defense at times did not. When North Texas put the running qb in, and ran him, and the tailback, we showed a lot of vulnerability. That is when they drove 80 yards on...
  16. The SI Jinx. Guess who?

SI Jinx SI does the "regional cover" crap now during pre-season, so how can there be a cover jinx, except during the season, when it is only one? Sportscenter put us #1, so we are pissed about that too. Hey, it doesn't matter, as the game on Sept. 9th will determine who will be 1/2 of the nat'l...
  17. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Campie I do see Campies' point, though I don't greatly agree. It is ALWAYS faster for the defense to gel, than the offense. Defense is reaction, offense is timing. The only reason I somewhat support Campies' theory, is that tOSU lost NINE starters. Five, MAYBE six, is not a big issue most...
  18. Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Well, I have seen the poll, and read what everyone on MANY boards have said. Here is my analysis..(which means NADA) LOL USC still thinks they are unbeatable ND still thinks they are unbeatable Texas is nothing without Vince Young tOSU is nothing without AJ and co. All of this is laughable...
  19. What Will Be the Buckeyes' Record in 2006?

KEY word is "young" defense. They will not be ready to beat Texas in Austin. You lost way too many starters. Saying that, I believe that will be the only game you lose, and we will lose 2 games due to inexperience at QB, on away games. I may be wrong, but I don't think there will be any...
  20. Game Thread Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State 34, Notre Dame 20 (final)

Good Luck Guys From a horn fan, I wish you guys luck in beating the Irish !! I will be rooting for ya ! I don't know if you have realized it yet, but most everyone down South dislikes ND. Mostly because they are an entity in themselves. They don't have to share revenue with a conference, and...
