Heck, I mentioned 1 game each year because you said 1 game per year. I admitted, the Huskers are certainly not playing to the level I'd like them to be playing at. And I do think they still have the potential to become much better - although it may not be this year. I have no desire to become...
OK, I'll accept that challenge to correct you! While Nebraska is surely not playing to the level I and most Husker fans want - overachieve in at least one game a year?
Hmm, lets see... Last year I'll take the 23-9 win over Michigan.
The year before that - well, how about the 28...
That utter destruction of then undefeated Florida and their motor-mouth coach Spurrier has to be my all time favorite Husker game. I still remember one of Spurrier's pre-game pressers, where he confidently predicted that his Gators were way too fast for Nebraska to handle. I also...
Thanks, appreciate the info, will patiently wait and anticipate the re-introduction when you're ready...
BTW, when I click on the current smilies, one comes up as a missing picture - mousing over it says its Sad2.
Yep, he AVERAGED over 10 wins per season, and that was when in most of those years no team played more than 12, including a bowl!
I'm not sure any coach will string together that kind of record over such an extended duration again, parity really has made that much more unlikely.
Apologies if this has already been discussed or mentioned elsewhere - did we lose all the team and conference-specific emoticons with the upgrade? Will they be coming back?
This! And, yeah, I haven't been around much either! But firing Pelini now, for that 2 year old tape - would have been complete suicide for Nebraska - sure glad cooler heads prevailed.
As for the on-field performance - I honestly think one of the major issues is that Bo promoted a guy to DC...
I watch some of the live games/events which simply aren't available elsewhere due to ESPN's seeming monopoly, but NONE of the additional fluff they fill the channel(s) with. Ugh...
Would love to quit them entirely, but they hold too much of a lock on live sports game/event programming often.
Haven't been around much during the offseason, now I'm getting in the mood, can't wait for that first game! Of course, watching little Jack make that touchdown run sure helps get you into the college football mood! :)
Go Huskers! Go Bucks!
(signature updated through the end of the 2012 season)
fify... ;)
EDIT: OK, after reading the rest of the thread after making this post, I duly note that I wasn't the first (or second, or third...) to point this out! :D
I don't know a whole lot either. Of course, he has significant ties to the B1G, to Wisconsin, and to Alvarez - who himself has significant ties to Osborne and Nebraska.
The thoughts on the Husker board I'm on seem to be primarily "cautiously optimistic", but with reminders of the disastrous...
Hell, might as well throw the Baylor QB into the mix, based on the arguments in favor of Geno Smith right now. He probably threw for the second highest yardage this last Saturday, and like Smith had a 300+ yard receiver in his game.
Oh yeah, he played against an absolutely [Mark May]ty...
