The defensive metrics on him all suggest that he's a subpar fielder. I remember the metrics mostly rated Eric Hosmer below average, yet he won 4 GGs in 5 years (his last in 2017 being a -5 Rfield and -0.9 UZR/150). And then there's the Derek Jeter example.
I can't help but feel like Lane Thomas...
I suspect (hope) that they were just trying to get to the All-Star Break. Then with four off days, they can hit the phones hard and maybe grab another arm by the end of next week. They've got quite a collection of young middle infielders. You can't play them all and they're running out of minor...
It's interesting that Arias was sent down today when Brennan was activated. It's a pleasant surprise to see them continue to give the young/untested guys opportunities (Martinez, Noel, Schneemann), instead of sticking with the "known" players.

No JT in the Top 100? Is he not in the game or am I overrating him...
Something about my brain thinking this season will come crashing down to a depressive state at some point. It's just too good to be true.
But...damn this has been a fun season so far! Kwan is a hit machine. Freeman has looked superb in CF. While Kwan was out, Jose decided to win games...
Don't allow first year players (true frosh and transfers) to receive NIL money and put in some stiff penalties for both the player and school, if they break it. I don't know if that's the answer, but I would think that it would at least stop the pay for commitments/visits and help steer it back...
While moral victories are usually a crappy way to look at it, I'd hope this gives the team a confidence boost. In baseball momentum and the right mindset are huge over the course of a long season. This should show them that they can compete with one of the clear top teams in the league. No...
I'm surprised that he wasn't drafted. He showed great football instincts moving from RB to LB. I'd think his versatility would have led to someone drafting him somewhere. He seems like the perfect 53rd man.
But...good for him to not be a 7th rounder and be able to pick his team.
My thoughts exactly. Wasn't the Reggie Bush Heisman something that they had said they wouldn't consider giving back? I feel this has opened that discussion for the Buckeyes' 2010 season.
Pretty good last two games. It seems like last year's team would have rolled over and lost both; last night letting Houck continue to dominate again for another shutout and Sunday allowing Oakland to comeback and win after Cleveland took an early 2-0 lead.
4.09 Runs/Game last year. 5.71 Runs/Game this year. I know it's still early, but after ~3 weeks, it's quite encouraging. They've yet to be shutout and have only lost 1 game by a non-save situation score. They clearly have a lot more fight in them than in 2023!
I don't think it's likely, but given the timetable for Bieber to return, I think it's now possible that he returns. I don't see a bidding war for a pitcher who has made 23 starts in two seasons and missed half a season in 2021 as well, but we'll see. I could see him coming back on a 1 year deal...
