I know right? The nice part about MSU is it gets me the academic experience into a Big Ten school (great for future job prospects) and gets me closer to both of my sisters (Indiana and Columbus). I could camp and fish with them much more often then I get the chance to do from down here in...
Holy shit you're making me laugh.. I want all the fish from Michigan in my boat. All of them. I've done well in Florida with the largemouth, redfish, snook, and seatrout fisheries. May try to venture out for some grouper, snapper, and maybe a tarpon this spring/summer. But if I head to...
I should be able to get on L. Erie quite a bit. The project I'm interviewing for is a walleye project on the offshore reefs and tributaries along western Lake Erie. Collaborating with Ohio DNR, USGS, Michigan State, and Ohio State folks. I've never caught a walleye before, but apparently they...
I'm fine with some good lakes. That'll take up some time and money if I end up going to East Lansing. What's the good catch in that region? Walleye, smallies, lake trout? Any pike/muskie in the area?
That's a bit of what I'm afraid of in terms of what to do. I'm worried it's a bit of a redneck town, despite being a university town. While the fisheries and wildlife department is top-notch (it's rated as one of the best in the country), I still gotta live there for 4-6 years for work. In...
I'm visiting MSU in a few weeks to check out their PhD program in fisheries and wildlife. Anyone have any tips, recommendations for visiting the area? I've never been. For those that have been, is it a fun area? Apart from the academic side of things, I need some bars/social areas and...
I don't fully know the cornerback prospects coming out, but I always thought Howard could make a solid boundary corner in the NFL due to his size and speed combination. An intriguing prospect, but I'm probably wearing my Buckeye-filtered glasses.
Call me crazy, but I just don't see Hartline as worth $6 million yet. I loved his production on an awful Dolphins team, but 1 year does not make the contract. He's a good WR but I don't see him as a #1 which I think caps his value between $4-6 million. Until (or unless) he develops a knack...
Does he plan on committing relatively early and being a '14 class leader? Or is he a 5-visit, take your time, NLOID commit?
From where I stand, he seems to want to be prudent but deliberate about making a decision so that he can recruit with/for his chosen school. Thoughts?
Biggest issue I saw (as did many others) was getting away from DT in overtime. Craft cannot take the last two shots in the game (both blocked, albeit with contact). There was enough time in both occasions for a play to develop, particularly in the next-to-last possession.
Michigan needed a great 3-point night to win this, plus several contact plays with no calls. They won it though, and there is no way that tOSU gets the foul call late on Crafts drive after the no-call on Craft's potential flagrant (which could have gone either direction).
