I'd base it simply off of win percentages since 1980, since that'd likely be a good barometer of recent success.
Top Tier:
Nebraska (78%)
Ohio State (74%)
Michigan (72%)
Penn State (71% prior to the 112 wins vacated)
2nd Tier:
Iowa (61%)
Wisconsin (58%)
3rd Tier:
Michigan State (52%)...
I think that the real advantage for OSU will be that OSU can (generally) stop the run when they can focus on it. Every team OSU has faced has gone with a quick-strike passing game, featuring a halfway decent QB. I don't think MSU's QB/WR situation is great, so we will play press coverage and...
One question for minds better than I:
Do you think that one negative of the hurry-up offense is that it forces our defense to play tired if the offense goes 3-and-out very often? It would seem that our defense would be at a disadvantage, because a 3 and out means 2, maybe 3 minutes elapses...
Just wondering, but do you think OSU was looking ahead to Michigan State from this game?
I always get the feeling that we're not seeing everything being thrown onto the field every game. Maybe I'm a homer in thinking there's so much more there, but given the level of competition, I wonder if...
UAB is rather bad, but their strength is the passing game (seemingly). I expect them to score a time or two, as I doubt we have our defense on lockdown yet. But UAB has a horrid defense, so it won't be close. Not sure if we'll beat the spread, but we'll do well enough on offense to believe our...
It was a good interview, I thought.
The one thing he mentioned is that, due to the playoffs, they are going to start to do what they can to schedule tougher competition. He said we will be playing a top-10 team, a top-40 team, and a cupcake (or at least that one was inferred) each year...
Look at these numbers, and think about this:
In 3 Games in 2012, Braxton has amassed the following vs. his entire freshmen year:
56% of passed completed
50% of passed attempted
53% of the yardage
54% of the touchdowns thrown
50% of the interceptions thrown
35% of the rushing attempts
53% of...
Right. I know its obvious, but at the same time, there are various complaints about the offense at this juncture. Drawing comparisons from other sophomore campaigns, one should be appreciative of Herman and Urban.
Braxton's sophmore stats thus far:
48/78 for 611yds, 7 TDs, 2 INTs, and a 151.8 QB Rating
56 rushes for 377yds, 5 TDs
Comparatively, his stats for his first 3 starts last year (Colorado, Mich St. and Nebraska):
15/31 for 234yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT, and a 137.3 QB Rating
36 rushes for 147yds, 0 TDs...
I could see Urban trying to get JHall 20 touches a game, and Hyde 10 touches a game.. Would be a reasonable split. Having JHall, Hyde and rotating Boren in the backfield would be great. You're right on the mismatches. Both offer different advantages, which would be nice to see Urban/Herman use...
Going off what you've said, I'm also surprised that they haven't called more screens - it seemed like they were called a few times during the spring game, and worked pretty well.
Really liked the stats for Jordan Hall's return. Not bad for only having a few days of practice - here's hoping he gets better for UAB and B1G play.
Otherwise, there is no way this team is going to go to Michigan State and beat Sparty.. Looks like a 9-3 or 8-4 team unless they fix things. On...
