ND is having a nice year - but I think people are still in love with the nostaglia of the Domers more than anything.
Remember - these guys lost to MSU - at home!
Yes, they had a great game against USC, and should have won - but one game doesn't make for a coaching legacy - just ask...
Alabama is likely to slip against Auburn if their offense doesn't improve in a hurry.
Coyle's line is young, and they really miss Protho's playmaking ability.
14-3 and PSU is driving.
My hopes are not high for this one.
I'll ride Herbies coattails and hope they lose against MSU in the last game of the season.
I think we need to give props on both scheme and execution for the shotgun option play.
On both TD's I called it before they lined up.
I'm sure the defense knows their tendencies too, but today it didn't matter.
You might say it was b/c they were facing inferior talent, but this is a...
Where has Brandon Mitchell been? Not that our secondary has been lacking in any way - but he seems like an asset that could be used a little more. Seems like he could see time on the field by backing up either safety position.
You are so right...I'm know we won't hit on all cyclinders every game...I know we want to get better as the season progresses...I know we don't want our offense to peak mid-season as it did under Coop...I know that much of JT's offensive philosophies are sound...
But...we are underacheiving on...
I think another stat you have to look at is the lack of rushing TD's by a RB in the 2005 version.
In '02, even Ross and Hall managed to score when we needed them (e.g. ILL, Mich).
In '05, I think we have one rushing TD by a RB - Schnittker against Miami.
I tell my brother over and over...I don't care what style of O JT wants to run - I just want to score than the other team (it's one reason why i could enjoy the '02 season more than he)...but settling for 45+ yard field goal attempts isn't going to get it done.
If your ratio is...highest TOP over lowest scoring avg...you have the most chances and produce the fewest results...the last time I checked, the purpose of the offense was to score points.
I think the team has put this on itself a little bit...after all, weren't they ones saying this team closely resemble the 2002 team in the offseason?
Fans were led to believe, rightly or wrongly, that 2005 would be 2002 all over again...undefeated...win the close games...win the big...
Here we go...pinning our hopes on the latest recruit to solve our problems.
No...this game doesn't make "more excited" about c. wells...I want to win with the players we have now...I want Haw and M. Wells to realize their full potential.

When we lost to UT...
- I watched the game at a house other than my own
- Gameday crew was on location at the game
- Both Corso and Herbie picked us in a close game
- Hit record on the DVR while Iowa was still playing
- I couldn't listen to the game on the radio while watching it on TV

1 - I was pleased with the adjustment made by / with Jenkins in the 2nd half.
2 - Kudla is playing well...a couple of holding calls against him were missed.
3 - Notice Robinson didn't take our LB's head on like he did with the Minny SS.
