Jim Tressel (National Champion, ex-President, Youngstown State University, CFB HOF)

I could see JT at a MAC school or at a BCS program in another conference. I have a hard time imagining him in the same conference as OSU. That being said, he'd be the perfect fit for The Huskers.

Uniforms (Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, etc....)

I think that's the case, but I've also read that the NFL actually only donates about 5% of the proceeds to Cancer Research (looking for the link...)

Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

Day-um.... you should take a few minutes to read this: Where There's Fire, There's Fire Pretty much a list of all of the "minor" things that have happened at Alabama since Saban got there, as well as curiosity as to why no one reports these in a larger way.

    Finding Peace

I've discovered that Peace is less about something I've found, but rather something I've chosen; particularly when I've chosen the opposite of chaos.

    Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

That and Deon's son was at a concert and got to go backstage (ala Manziel). Unlike Johnny football, though, people seem to have immediately questioned if it was an improper benefit.

    Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Totally agree... but is "the fact that the family can have money" something that might be subjective based on what people both know and believe to be true?

    Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Agreed... but looking deeper you can see that the "they have oil money" story isn't as simple as it seems. But, who questioned those initial assumptions? Not me, for one...

    Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Yeah, it's certainly hard to say it was THE factor, but it also certainly felt like JM got the "benefit of the doubt" that other student athletes did... and there may be a race/privilege factor to that.

    Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Took a run at this today, including whether race/privilege had an impact and whether or not schools that "play by the rules" are stupid for doing so: tBBC: Johnny Freaking Football

    Bilas v NCAA

Very valid point. But they are a part of the "problem" nonetheless. I love Jay Bilas and the attention that he brings to this issue. But it's also important to remember that his current role is due, in part, to the work of the student athletes that he believes are being exploited. It's also...
