Common sense, don’t over complicate this. Lot of rich fans/boosters/etc will (and probably have been) pay recruits to come to their school so their team can win with no positive ROI benefit to a company that they own.
Well the issue here is this clearly is not evolving to be ‘Merica NIL from a business perspective as you position it, unless you include wins and losses on the payoff side of the ROI ledger. Not that I personally feel one way or the other how it should be, but I do think it’s reasonable to still...
They would vote for Utah.
I agree with the point though that opening it up to 12 actually INCREASES the odds that the most deserving team does not end up winning the whole thing. It's why I think the sweet spot is 6 with a home game for the first round (keeping as much value as possible on the...
I get the point you’re making here but that’s not how it works in this case. TWELVE teams, not including Ohio St. Utah, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest. Those three, and I would argue others, I’d think would have a less chance than OSU at both making the playoffs and in winning the whole thing if they...
I agree with this but what I can’t figure out is my particular sports betting app has 12 teams you can still bet on to win the national championship and OSU isn’t even one of them. I guess it’s possible they just don’t know how to put them and are keeping them off the board for now.
Good question and framing. A few come to mind in my lifetime (Orlando Pace freshman year, AJ Hawk and crew, DBs from a few years ago), but this might be it. Will be interesting to see if they continue to be this dominant at the end of the year.
Exactly. I didn't think it sounded like he had an issue with being called JT, but was just pointing out that JT Tuimoloau is redundant with the "T". In my IMO.
I think the end result is still expansion but just with a limit on teams per conference now being a much bigger sticking point. Non-SEC will be pushing for 3, SEC will be pushing for no limit, and it’ll land at either 3 or 4 depending on how much hard ball the non-SEC group is willing to play...
