With Grinch gone, it allows Day to "bust" Schiano back to safety coach. Schiano excelled at that.
That allows the next move, which is to bring in a defensive coordinator that also coaches linebackers, just like cool hand Luke.
Schiano can then be codefensive coordinator again, fine.
If I recall, last year Meyer was saying that "who would start at safety" may have been his biggest concern.
Things can only improve from here.
And hopefully, someone beats them out.
For one year (only), this makes up for losing Battle.
Hopefully, this sets a trend for others to stay also.
Should I conclude that neither Taver Johnson nor Alex Grinch seem to be able to recruit?
Was it Coombs that was keeping recruiting alive for the entire secondary?
I would hate to start any rumor, but as long as folks are talking about xfer candidates, I personally speculate that it might be possible for Jeaux to transfer back to tOSU, making LSU/SEC is kind of a farm systems for the B1G East. This is maximumblitz and I approve this message.
The smaller number of scholarships available in 2019 tends to imply that tOSU will have a relatively experienced and veteran team in 2019.
My take is that the only way forward in recruiting is for Ryan Day to have a great year in 2019, a team which is "consistent".
Jim LLL. Harbaugh may have just weighed in, predicting "fireworks" during the early signing period:
He may be referring to a certain "boom"????

However it comes out, I take solace that the Buckeyes left it all on the field on Nov 24th, and as we all know, exposed the so called number 1 defense. Whatever happens, will happen, but I feel proud that the Buckeyes laid it all out for this recruit.
Aside from tOSU's blowout loss to Purdue .... as I see it .... the "strength of schedule" argument feigned by the committee seems to have been caused by:
1. TCU's anemic 6-6 record.
2. Northwestern losing to Akron and Duke (yes, this is a future argument)
3. Wisconsin losing to BYU
4. MSU...
I for one do not know what is wrong with the run game.
That causes me to wonder if the UFM offense run game is predicated on a QB dual run threat?
If so, I would love for them to re-experiment with Tate in there to see if the run game gets better.
If all of the sudden it begins working, then...
At appears that many were wrong in assuming PSU was the team to beat. Football is decidedly non-transitive, but at face value, if sparty beat psu by more than we did, then we are on track to lose to msu. I am not seeing anything that would lead me to believe that we will have Bosa back by...
Agreed, and he began mumbling about all the little things that separate and elite team from a great team. I thought it was a reasonably good way to motivate his players. Better than saying life sucks, deal with it
Is there anyone who does not agree that Gene was out negotiated?
If he was left high and dry, then he did not ask for enough in cancellation fees in the original negotiation.
I cannot remember the payday for home games, but I suspect it is over $4 million, even $8 million when you divide it by...
Why hasn't Gene Smith been fired for scheduling a game as a single game in an opponents back yard?
I see some stuff about "more tOSU fans will be there than froggies" and "TV made them do it". But at some point though, one has to stand up and so "heck no, I won't go".
When I first started reading, I thought Herman was going to look like a saint, because maybe he knew something was true, you never knew.
But to get revenge over recruiting? Wow.
Now I kind of wonder if Zach tossed dirt on Herman to begin it all?
I need both sides of the story please.
