Ski-U-Mah (pronunciation: /ˌskaɪ.juː.ˈmɑː/, sky-yoo-mah) is a slogan used at the University of Minnesota since 1884.
U of M Rugby captain John Adams had heard Sioux boys yell "ski-yoo!" when they won canoe races on Lake Pepin. He incorrectly interpreted that phrase as the Sioux word for...
Minnesota (much like Michigan) had a pretty illustrious history early on in college football history. I would say they really dropped off the cliff in the mid 40's. They were very good in the 30's and early 40s. The 60s was more a blip on the radar. As college football gained more and more...
Well following Joe Germaine wasn't the easiest of tasks either. Must admit that I remember saying "No, no ... don't ... don't throw that ... pic ... ugh" on several occasions at the Shoe. Anyway, he gave his all for the Bucks and I'll always love the guys that leave it all on the field.
Yeah...
Yep, we "found" a quarterback. Was a rocky 3 years as I recall. Also seem to remember that Steve's reputation as a "promising young ass-kicker" made him a fan favorite and consequently had a somewhat significant role in his ascent to the starting spot. A role that many seem to regret in hind...
Well my memory is foggy, but Austin Moherman was the starter that season (Miami FL and then UCLA) before Steve took over the starting spot ... which he kept thru the rest of his career. Might have been more discouraging if Moherman was the starter I guess.

Steve didn't start any games his freshman season (1998) but played in all 12 ... almost exclusively at DB and special teams. He was behind center for the Toledo game and went 3-5-0, 24 total yards. Other QBs to see...
Great young man and very happy to have him back. Quiet, respectful, confident, determined ... LEADER. Guy has been thru a lot (ACL, broken ankle, DUI, replacing the man, being replaced, winning it back ...) Very proud of how this Buckeye has handled himself thru the ups AND the downs.
"They...
Anyone know if Urban hired Tommy Elrod leading up to this game? [sarcasm font]
Well, first things first ... congrats to Clemson. Your team played well and deserved the victory. I've been trying to hard to dislike Dabo, but just can't find the right trigger. Just seems like a quality guy that...
Merry Christmas ScriptOhio! Just wanted to say Thank You for all you do around BuckeyePlanet ... outstanding!
And a Merry Christmas to all BPers! 8 minutes to go!!!!
But most of the commentary (nationally, not here) has been that it is OK as long as you don't do it when you're playing in one of the big 6 bowls. And specifically not acceptable if you are in the playoff games/bowls. Seems like the pundits don't think anyone would consider NOT playing if they...
This. (for me anyway)
The commitment to each other ... it runs both ways. His teammates are at least partially responsible for his success, and he for theirs. See it thru would be the best option (in my eyes).
