Wishing the young man all the best. Has to be a tough pull between where he’s from and where he is. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about OSU recruiting is that they practically always upgrade with the next kid when a kid decommits at any position.
How many high schools is that now? Three, four? Fortunately his reputation should precede him and he’ll have an easy adjustment. I moved around a lot and hated always being the new kid. Making new friends, figuring out who was real vs phony, guys wanting to fight just to show off for girls, etc.
When they weren’t getting their jerseys ripped off or tackled by the Chiefs tackles. All they missed holding calls made me sick in the second half. But not as much as having to see Taylor swift every five minutes.
I’m gonna REALLY go out on a limb here and predict that the staff has accepted his commitment but he’s holding off on announcing till tomorrow so Kirks gets his shine today.
Edit: wait was I supposed to use the sarcasm font? lol
Is it illegal to maintain relationships with other staffs? I don’t think it is. He just said they supported him emotionally as he struggled at Bama. The NCAA would really be throwing poop at the wall and trying too hard to flex if they made something out of that. It’s not like he was gonna go...
I was at OSU same time as his dad and Dorian Brew’s mom (Donica Merriman). Makes me feel like an old man lol Especially when my daughter calls me old and she’s a year ahead of these guys lol
He fills the hole with the instincts of a LB and plays the ball like he’s the receiver. Can’t ask for more than that from your free safety. I’m glad the staff got on him with a year left until signing day. He reminds me of how Koi Perich looked in the AA game.
Yeah I don’t think it’s a coincidence he’s committing on his mom’s birthday, like Aaron Scott committing on his dad’s birthday knowing he’s a big OSU fan. And just two weeks after Sanchez.
If anything that game showed how many guys OSU coulda had a much better shot at had they gotten in on them earlier. Maybe they can cast a wider net and identify these guys earlier? I know there are always late bloomers and whatnot every class. But the coaches can’t keep relying on just showing...
If he’s for sure quitting? Yeah I’m choosing door B. But if it’s all rumors I’m gonna ask. I’ve been in that position too. But he told me before anybody else that he was definitely leaving. It wasn’t other companies gossiping that he MAY leave. Big difference.
Yeah I forgot all about Warner. So many guys on the west side were showing out I was too lazy go back and look lol Part of me wonders if the coaches would even use those edge guys correctly. We’ve seen so many guys comes thru and not shine until they got to the NFL bcuz the coaches were...
Funny how wrong we are about these recruitments as outsiders. People on multiple message boards, including this one, assumed this was an ND/ttun battle, only to find out OSU had the upper hand in the end. With that in mind it’ll be interesting to see if OSU can get him to reconsider. That’s two...
