London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

Lack of humility does it for me. Declaring yourself a legend? No thanks. I prefer athletes who let their performance do the talking. He obviously has that ability, and chooses not to do so.

    Holley Mangold (Olympic weightlifter)

We got to attend Holley's event today. Proud of her and Robles' efforts. Yes, dont know how much was on TV, but she obviously was in pain after the first lift. I know nothing about weightlifting, but even I knew the Russian coaches screwed up their strategy. The Russian girl and the...

London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

We're actually in London, watched the 10k from our brit friends' house. Everyone was going crazy on that last lap after being so prepared to watch the Ethiopians pull away. Loved seeing Rupp run him down like that! :)

London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

Pretty sure it was Silverlight, yes.

London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

Seriously. Doing interviews with the others two feet in front of her was especially off-putting to me.

Well, how do you think his ship ended up on the Scioto?

Say what? Perhaps from the perspective of someone sitting on the nose facing in. :p

    Any Runners? (10K or marathon)

To start with, don't do the Pig or Akron. :p Actually, I've heard good things about both, they're just among the hillier marathons in Ohio from what I know. If you're good with that, then go for it. I like the Furman "Run Less, Run Faster" plan if you plan to run on your own. If you're...

    Any Runners? (10K or marathon)

So, anyone else do Relay Around Columbus this weekend? I thought it was remarkably well run for a first time event of that scope. Definitely recommend it.

Tate "LL" Forcier (official thread of FABULOUS!)

Chris may be the focus for now, but Tate "still has dreams at continueing on as a proffessional".

Jose Lopez finds your lack of faith disturbing.

    Most "conditioned" athletes

Lance also started his career as a triathlete, so it's not like he was even a first timer at the sport. Totally agree with the sentiment that it depends on body type and training. This argument is basically what decathlon and long course triathlon were created to answer, though. So, I'd say...

    Any Runners? (10K or marathon)

Ah, that's the difference. Wasn't thinking about a separate first time plan. Good call. With as well as I did with the other one this winter, maybe I should look into the first time plan. (My own fault and temperature issues, not a problem with the plan itself)

    Any Runners? (10K or marathon)

Little confused by this. I've been using the Furman plan for the last couple years, and it netted me a big PR in last years's Cap City half. Totally agree that you should look it up. Thir book is called "Run Less, Run Faster", and it lives on my coffee table. :) But their marathon plan has...

    #2 tOSU -7.5 vs #6 Cincy (ov/un 130.5) Thurs 9:45 ET, CBS

Well, to be fair, every part of that sentence is accurate. :p

    #13 Ohio Univ Bobcats 65, #4 TSUN 60 - March 16, 2012 NCAA Tournament

Agree with the point about us having "Ohio" in our songs. And frankly, that makes a lot more sense than them having "the victors" in their song.

    2011-2012 Lady Buckeyes Basketball

True, but there are probably 60 lines in the bracket I'd take over the one we got. Baylor is a nightmare matchup for us. At least we're not the 16 opposite them in round 1? :ohwell:

    Bret Bielema (HC Illinois)

Sounds like a perfect match!

    Holley Mangold (Olympic weightlifter)

I believe the numbers are right, but it was kg, not lbs.
