You never know but I wouldn't read in to that. I've seen countless hat, sweatshirt, glove, etc. decisions over the years that turn out to be red herrings.
He's already one of the greatest Buckeyes of all-time. Does he etch himself in lore for a century by returning next year and delivering on those goals?
Christian Williams on X:
I like this... I like it a lot. My preference would be the highest NIL dollars go to the kids that are doing work on the field.
Made some copycat Cheesecake Factory Chicken Madeira for the wife... warmed up a tub of Bob Evans mashed potatoes. I saved it all by finishing the meal with a homemade chocolate bundt cake.
Exactly... pre-NIL there have been some head scratchers in terms of kids coming back to deal with unfinished business (beat a rival, win the conference, with a national championship). Now there is a financial incentive. This has and will continue to change the dynamics of college football broadly.
Both eye-test metrics are what come to my mind when I think about deficiencies: plays at the sticks behind schedule and accuracy downfield. I felt like the body language of the recievers after some of those misses said it all. I also think that sort of stuff gets in their heads and creates...
Good points. Admittedly, I'm not savvy on all the ins and outs of Title IX but my initial interpretation of the language in the article is the proposal would insulate some of the non-revenue generating sports. That said, the current model disproportionately benefits most organizations and...
This was the first thing my mind went to... although one could see a future where they're able to gut out for the first few years and become a lot more competitive as the other P4-caliber players start shifting toward the new subdivision where there are scholarships. That, in turn, may start to...
NCAA proposing new college athletics subdivision rooted in direct athlete compensation
TLDR: NCAA is proposing new models for the schools with healthy resources to separate from those that are more fiscally constrained.
So many implications to this but it feels inevitable.
I'll admit it, a part of me is a little concerned. The devil you know and all... Also, going 11-1 in a season where many sites are showing tOSU as top 5 on SoS/SoR/etc. shouldn't be brushed aside. The kid balled out to the best of his ability for us and I'm grateful for his contribution.
This is the thing that's being underappreciated here. When Braxton went down, JTB and CJ were ready. When Craig Krenzel went down, Scott McMullen stepped up and caused some to question whether Krenzel should still be the starter. How many times did we breath a sigh of relief knowing we had Kenny...
This is what's driven me nuts this season. I don't expect a first year starting QB to be perfect. But my heart shouldn't stop on routine plays at the sticks. Say what you want about Bauserbombs, he wasn't risking a turnover or committing egregious intentional grounding on the regular.
I'm not ruling out a return as insane as I think it sounds. He's uncommon amongst uncommon. That's the only type of person that would return in his situation. Not saying he will or there's even decent odds, but there's a chance.
