Wisconsin elects to use the HULK SMASH play. Why Wisconsin ever runs anything other than Zone stretch, Inside Zone, and PA Pass is beyond me. That OL is just dominating the tiny TCU DL.
Lou Holtz kept saying "you can't give him a minus, because he's throwing the ball well but nobody is open". I'm pretty sure that good QBs find ways to make it work. In the NFL, how many times do you think WRs are running wide open? How about 'never'.
Not sure it's fair to compare Laurinaitis to Locker. I mean, Laurinaitis was a multiple time All American. Locker has thoroughly mediocre for his entire career. Guy was overrated and nobody respectable said he was a #1 pick last year (i.e. only Todd McShay said that). Hell, nobody called James a...
I'm a little surprised that they're not having Kevin Wilson call the plays. Either way, they're assembling a pretty good crew of offensive minds over there.
The Fridge is the ACC equivalent of Kirk Ferentz: good every other year. The problem is that Maryland can't do any better than he was doing; however, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement of his tenure.
Anyway, Brady Hoke is a name that I'm hearing a lot of people say. A lot of buzz on that...
Frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with Gabbert. Completing 74% of his passes is impressive, but Iowa played 3 LBs against 5 WR formations all game - he SHOULD be completing those passes, because they're huge mismatches. Throwing 2 killer INTs easily outweighs throwing 1 TD. His YPA wasn't...
Actually, I don't really give a crap that these guys are suspended. They made their bed and they'll sleep in it; the team will move on without them and still be successful. I'm annoyed that they either 1) didn't know what they were doing was wrong or 2) did and then did it anyway. In either...
If that's true (and I have no reason to believe that you'd lie to me), then you'd think that many of the colleges would finally put their foot down and tell the NCAA to either do their job or they will put together an institution that will. Any company that had an employee or subsidiary or...
I'm trying to figure out why any college allows the NCAA to stick around. What do they do? Skim money off the top, fail to punish actual, real cheaters, and then nickel/dime schools that actually try to follow the rules. Why in the hell would ANYONE not just kick the NCAA to the curb?
Makes me wonder why recruits don't simply ask coaches to sign a legally binding LOI. If my son were being recruited, it's simply a matter of asking the coach what kind of commitment he will make to my boy; once the lip service "we value all of our athletes" BS pours out, why not just say "Thanks...
