  • Make a database and a user for it in cpanel, which should also give you a folder. Get the 1.5.15 Joomla Full Package and extract it in that folder. Navigate to the folder in your browser, and it will walk you through the setup.

The only thing that can be tricky is that when it asks you for the database name and user, depending on the host, you may need to prefix it with your cpanel id, but not always. This would be cpanelid_databaseuserid and cpanelid_databasename. Host is localhost. (Edit - no prefix for passwords; wasn't clear.)

Delete the installation folder per instructions.

Go to Site>Configuration and play with settings. On the Systems tab, set the Session Lifetime high so you don't get logged out during development.

That's enough to play with for now. I'll pick some good extensions out and email you a .zip later this evening to save hunting around time.
I really think it has more to do with me being teh sexy.

BTW, with the multi-categorization and store stuff I've found lately, there tools are there if you want to try Joomla at some point.
So, I got a message on one of the Joomla forums from a girl who said she likes my comments and do I want pictures of her?
Hmm...going to have to lab a little bit with those guys.

Question, I have my computer connected through wifi from my router, and I have my xbox 360 connected by a wire to that same router. Yet I cannot set up the windows media center on the xbox without having the computer hooked up through ethernet cord.

Is that the only way for it to work? I know I can also get the wireless adaptor for the xbox, but I'm trying to avoid the cost.
    Thanks. :banger:

I've been thinking about switching for a long time. This new development might finally motivate me to do it. Have to make sure I'm allowed to have a satellite at my apartment though.
