Zach Smith (Official Thread)

Nice representative of the University and surely impressive to the parents of prospects.
Keep it a 100 Spaulding.

If he was on the staff of any other school, which he will never be because of his immaturity and he simply isn't accomplished, then everyone would loathe him.
Everyone. And if you say otherwise you are ignorant or intellectually dishonest or under 18 years old.

In hindsight he is 50% Spaulding Schmails and 40% Shane McMahon and 10% Eric The Actor (RIP).

Here is a tip. If you never played a down of football in college and are a coach, keep Beavis like theatrics on twitter down, at least until you are accomplished.

I'd rather have Smith representing the university than a reckless alcoholic, but that's just me.

Nebraska's Coach "Dubs" should be Coach "Trips" after his 3rd DUI.

Coach Zach Smith

Ohio State has enjoyed tremendous recruiting success under head coach Urban Meyer, and the assistant coaches all have great reputations as powerful recruiters.

Wide receivers coach Zach Smith has been Scout's Big Ten recruiter of the year two of the past three seasons, and he is looked at as one of the top young assistant coaches in America.

In this video interview, Smith talks about Ohio State's recruiting success and why Meyer will go down in history as one of college football's greatest head coaches.

edit: apparently embedding videos is above my pay grade, so theres the link to it.

"he is looked at as one of the top young assistant coaches in America."

A) Interesting.
I wonder if at some point another school would hire him as OC? Maybe one of the assistants from OSU that has gone onto a HC gig. I wonder if a MAC school might tab him as a HC.

B) A dead cat could recruit well at a school like Ohio St. who's HC is in the discussion as the greatest coach of all time.

C) Regarding the Husker's WR coach. Even though I submit Schmails has no room to talk I wouldn't have expected him to take the high road. That's who he is. And I'll be classy and leave it at that.

Doesn't it get old? No one here cares. There are other coaches on the staff. Which one of them has been B1G recruiter of the year?

Don't you have a high end rim job to give someone?

Seriously, your hard on for Zach Smith makes it seem like your advances toward him got rejected at a bar one night.

I know you're just trolling, but he's 32 years old man. How far up the coaching tree do you expect him to be right now?

10 years under Meyer. My expectations are for someone to have achieved at least a coordinator position.

"But it takes an extremely talented position coach to develop and make a player great (3 all B1G receivers each of the last 3 years)..."
Name them (I'll except media/coaches first team). I'm not willing to count 3rd team all 11Warriors pre-season.
I do know he has never produced a first rounder, nor did he play a down of CFB.

This is the all-time stupidest award. I do know he is not thought of highly at all in state. I've never understood how this award is "calculated" or by whom.
Listen, I'm not going to say more but trust me I have the goods on this.
