McMurphy is the worst reporter I’ve ever seen. And that is saying a lot. He shoots first, and then figures out who the guilty and innocent were later. It’s awful.

And opinions will differ here, but not only is Trevon a victim in this, but his mom is, and even his dad who went on the record. McMurphy has taken a broken family and tried to continue his career on their unfortunate dysfunctionality. It’s so immoral and weak. It takes a real ignorant and down low piece of shot to do what he did today.

And that’s the honest truth. He’s ruining people’s lives.

If you're Urban Meyer and you have tens of millions of dollars, legal bills are immaterial. Not sure what the rules re: the losing party to legal disputes paying the victor's legal bills are in the relevant jurisdictions, but worst case you drag him through discovery and pay his lawyer's bills. Pull a Peter Thiel/Hulk Hogan and cover the family's bills too. Bury this piece of shit.

Absent malice, you have a shitty reporter who is wrong about the facts.

And if you want McFuckface to win the case, you put Zack on the stand and let your lawyer at him. Odds are a jury will believe the opposite of whatever Rage Lad says. No matter what, it is a 'wrestle a pig' phenomena. Best to let it lay and blow over. Don't give him all the clicks that would bring.

Meanwhile, since this used to be the Zack Smith thread, let’s just hope ZS’s future late night Twitter rants—and have no doubt there will be more—don’t turn toward Urban and/or OSU. It would make the mess of July/August this year seem like a wet diaper.

There is clearly malice. It's just about whether you can prove it or not at this point and ignoring him doesn't seem to make him go away. So you options are open yourself up discovery by Zach Smith by burying him or hope he gets bored and tries to find another target. And it clearly looks like Herman is involved in feeding him info.

There's malice based on your (and my) definition and then there's the legal definition. Sadly, a combination of first amendment and legal definitions of malice likely make any recourse a non-starter.

No matter how clean the program, no good can come from putting a coach on the stand under oath. That's why it never happens. It's also why sports "journalists" know they can get away with flimsy reporting.
