YOUR 2016 Cleveland Indians Thread (American League CHAMPS!)

At 47-30, the Tribe is tied with Boston for the second best record in the AL (Texas is 51-28), and only two NL teams have better records (Chicago at 51-26 and San Francisco at 49-30).

EDIT: The Tribe also has the major's second-best scoring differential at +91 runs (Chicago Cubs have a fucking ridiculous +170 runs in scoring differential).

Also, suck it, Atlanta.

2, 2, 2, 4, 0, 1, 5, 0, 3, 3, 3, 0. Runs given up the last 12. I haven't seen anything like this.
The 2008 squad had a slightly better 11 game run in May '08:

2,3,0,6,1,0,0,3,0,0,2 = 17 runs, 1.55 runs allowed pg.

4 shutouts in 5 games, and 5 in 8. They were LOCKED IN. Of course, that year was the beginning of the rebuild we're still kind of in, as stars like Sabathia, Lee, V-Mart were dealt as their contracts were coming up, and Hafner/Sizemore's careers fell apart due to injuries. That phenomenal 11 game run proved an anomaly, as they would lose 34 of their next 49 games and the team finished with a woeful 4.45 ERA en route to an 81-81 finish.

Some trade talk:

http://factoryofsadness.co/2016/06/...-talk-will-the-tribe-trade-for-an-outfielder/

I'm inclined to believe they'll wait to see what Almonte and Brantley can provide. Almonte is raking in C-bus, albeit a small sample size; but he's been barely mediocre in MLB. Brantley is still at least 3-4 weeks away, and you have to wonder if he'll be back to his old self after a few setbacks. As for Jay Bruce, isn't Cleveland on his no-trade list? Maybe he waives that to play for a contender. His contract is team friendly, as it looks like a team option with a $1M buyout vs. $13M salary for 2017.

We do have trade pieces. Zimmer and Frazier are top OF prospects. Clevinger and Anderson might still be appealing pitchers to some organizations, and Erik Gonzalez is blocked by Lindor.

I actually expect them to make some moves. This pitching staff gives them a real shot at a postseason run. But, the offense is essentially duct taped together. How much longer can you expect to wring production out of life-long mediocre pieces like Uribe, Davis and Chisenhall? Is Naquin for real, or will he hit the rookie wall? Ramirez is playing way above his expected production. I think they'll likely add another bat unless somehow Almonte significantly our-performs his career .244 average and Brantley comes back 100%. Probably beef up the bullpen, too.

Still shitty.

Not to mention they gave up 3+ runs in only three of those games (vice five games in the current 12-game streak), and gave up only six runs in the last seven games of the streak (0.86 rpg).
