You Won't See This in Any Other Pro League

Keep an eye on Willie Mitchell for the Canucks warm up tonight - Canucks Nation – Vancouver Canucks blog
Word around the rink is that Mitchell taped together an 80-inch stick he plans to use for the warm-up tonight during the pre-game skate in Calgary
He hatched the plan after Mike Keenan accused him of using a stick that was too long for games.
Mitchell laughed at the suggestion and said his stick is 63-inches, the maximum allowable unless a player gets a league exemptions.
There are eight players who have exemptions.
Keep a close eye on Mitchell's skate length during the pre-game. Sportsnet is set to do an on-ice interview with Mitchell

Are the pictures above his game-size stick or the warm-up? Seems way bigger than 63 inches, it's gotta be the pre-game. Hilarious, I can't even imagine wielding a stick that big. His game stick is 5 and a quarter feet, warm up stick at 6 and a half feet, which is taller than I am. Ridiculous

thats the warm up (joke) stick. his normal stick is 63 inches (so he says) from heel of the blade to end of the shaft, max allowable by the nhl.

Thought so, that's hilarious. Caught the stick measurements in the article, what size do you think Chara uses? Dude's like 7 foot on skates.

 Everytime I watch that .gif I think "how would anyone actually play with that thing?" Seriously, you could poke check from 5 feet away at least, with the reach of your arm would give you another foot or two. Wielding that would be so hard, tripping penalties would happen all the time with that monstroucity.
