You mean climbing a mountain in December is dangerous?

I agree. Obviously any loss of life is sad in my opinion, I guess some of the sting is taken away when the people put themselves in that situation, knowing of the potential consequences.

I view it in the same light as someone who dies from a skydiving accident......sad, but it goes with the territory.
thats true.....I'm a skydiver....I jump probably 5-6 times a month with a combined 15-20 jumps in that month...and everytime I go up I know there is a chance that I'm not going home.....so the people (including me) that do stuff like this I don't think anyone should feel sorry for them...they know the dangers involved....

When your chute doesn't open, they don't have to risk other's lives to scrape up your remains...

This is the way I'd treat situations like this. These guys' bodies will either wash off the mountain during the spring thaw or they will become part of the mountain. The end. Then we'll set up a vBet on which is more likely...

In that same light you could say that fisherman who go out in very nasty conditions (ie: greatest catch) deserve the same treatment. It's not necessary to fish out there.......it's just a job.

If morons didn't kill themselves performing daring and stupid stunts, they'd only later kill themselves plus a bunch of innocent bystanders (e.g.: their own family) by approaching some ridiculously mundane task in a spectacularly stupid way, like deep frying a turkey on the kitchen stove.

:slappy:

I might have to start using that as my signature . . .
