I am undergoing football withdrawal. So in my insane rage, I have an idea. This is a scheduling issue and another league that will provide a fix for nearly all of the year.

College football would play 12 games and a playoff schedule with 16 team playoff that would add up to 17 weeks.

Professional football would play a 16 game schedule on different weeks that college with playoffs and a Super Bowl. This would add up to 22 weeks.

Professional Minor League or Developmental League made up of players who don't qualify for college or are ready for the NFL would play a 13 week schedule. Players could go up the NFL or down from the NFL as needed. This would be like the current baseball minor leagues.

This all adds up to 52 weeks unless I miss my guess. The minor leagues could also be an experimental rule change and strategy league so the NFL has a testing grounds. So to make the college game safe and viable, this would pay a lot less than the NFL but more than the college game. (Yes that is a pointed comment about the hypocrisy of the NCAA)

It would also have rules in place to protect the NCAA which is my fave or all football.

This is just a brainstorm. Given time, I could refine this idea. But thats something the "posters" can do for me.

Have at this.
