Don't kid about that... I actually had a draft last year that someone picked Mark Loretta with the 2nd overall pick in the draft. We all thanked him for the donation of his league fees.

Here is my take on things from the draft; admittedly, I am biased towards my guys in places (hence me drafting them);

Best squads, in descending order (but only mentioning the better ones), for:

Pitching:

Best starting pitching:
sears being sears (best top 4)
stoicpaisano (tons of quality and depth)
buckeyemann06 (decent quality and top end)
smitty03 (strong quality and depth for #4)
1919 Black Sox (overall quality and depth, no super-ace)

Best relief pitching:
The Hustle (strong top 2, one great setup, lots of depth)
schadenfreude (decent top end, setup, and depth)
stoicpaisano (strong top 2, no depth)
1919 Black Sox (strong top 2, no depth)
(bad relief overall for all our teams, 14 teams, such it is)

Best overall pitching:
Tie: stoicpaisano and 1919 Black Sox

Infield:
Indians #1 (damn)
Redlegs (strong all the way around)
and then all similar:
schadenfreude (pretty good all the way around) (maybe overrated by me)
piney
crayfish

Outfield:
Smitty03 (quality and diverse)
Crayfish (quality and diverse)
sears being sears (decent)
buckeyemann06 (decent)

Overall offense:
Piney

schadenfreude (lots of personal hopes here, probably overrated by me (Ordonez, Dye, Renteria bouncebacks. . .)

Regarding best overall team: beats me, which is a good thing. I just realized that I like 14 teams better than 12. It seems, to me, to have increased the parity of the league. . . no major winners or losers that I saw. . .


This isn't the most intelligent way to look at things. Just a fun glance. . .
