You said some dumb shit, which is your baseline. This isn't "bickering", this isn't even an argument. This is you being told that you spout nonsense and then you getting defensive because you're not familiar with correction by those around you.

I'd say "by peers", but that would be an insult to myself, implying that we are of equal standing.

I'm familiar with his work. I read his 'The Road to Character'. I was asked to do so for leadership training in my previous job.
