I know I'm not the only closet Wyo fan here, but I can't recall the other(s) by name. Anyway, I was in Laramie for a couple days.

Always and only a Buckeye fan, but I lived in Wyoming for about 30 years so I followed the Cowboys as there wasn’t a lot of national sports coverage out there in those days. They were always pretty terrible in football although they had a short stretch where they were competitive in basketball. Miss the hunting and fishing, don’t miss the 9 month winters and the constant wind. Beautiful state though.

I remember when I went to the Alamo Bowl and the Bucks rolled the Oklahoma State Cowboys. There was a pack of Okie State coeds hanging out at the riverwalk wearing "Poke U" t-shirts, quite appropriately I might add.

Holy crap, Wyo's back! I somehow missed the return of Mountain West football until today.

The Cowboys travel to Reno to take on Nevada tomorrow night at 7:00 ET on CBSSN.

All of their games are on FS1 or CBSSN this season.

QB Sean Chambers gets injured on the first possession of the season.

Lost the starting QB to injury in the first quarter, trailed 28-6 in the 3rd quarter, got pinned on the one with less than 2 minutes left down 31-28, walk on freshman kicking because the starter got injured in warm ups, make a 42 yard FG to tie it with 15 seconds left. Great resilience shown by the Cowboys to send this one to OT.

Walk-on kicker did his job, 4-for-4 on FGs including OT. That he had to kick a FG in OT is another matter.

Nevada wins in OT, 37-34. Disappointing.

Nice comeback. Dissapointing OT. Needed the backup to make 1 or 2 more throws (seemed shakey late) but nice job by the walk-on, red-shoe kicker to give them a shot.

Laramie is a nice town, but probably a tough sell to recruits and I don't see J's Prairie Rose ponying up much NIL money.

It's a good little diner, though.
