You definitely haven't heard Tom Hamilton then.
That guy starts screaming on a infield ground ball.
There is no one more exciting announcer in any sport to listen to than him.
Last time i listened they were scrambling for conversation topics and just plain boring. AM 770 (I believe) used to come in somewhat clear at night (NYY baseball) and I can promise you they had 200% the energy and conversation the Indians guys have. Unfortunately the station awhile back had to cut its gain and now doesn't come in but once in a blue moon

The Yanks are on 880 AM now, and you might try that - its a pretty strong signal. The broadcast team you refer to (in the past) is John Sterling & Michael Kay. Kay has moved on to be the main play by play guy on YES, and Sterling is still in the radio booth.

His broadcast partner is Suzyn Waldman now.

Sterling is great (loved by all Yankee fans, HATED by everyone else). He's the guy you hear on ESPN with the "YANKEES WIN !! THAAAAAAA YANKEES ..... WIN !!!" calls.

He also has cheesy home run calls for most of the players, which are (again) loved by all Yankee fans, but hated by everyone else:

Standard Home Run Call:
"It is HIGH ... Its is FAR ... It is ... GONE!!"

Then, depending on who hit it:

Jeter: "ITS A JETER JOLT !!"

Robbie Cano: "SAY IT AIN'T SO, CANO!!"

A-Rod: "An AAAAAA-Bomb, by AAAAA-Rod!!!" or, "ALEXANDER THE GREAT CONQUERS AGAIN!!"

Matsui: "A THRILLA ... BY GODZILLA!!"

Giambi: "THE GIAMBINO!!"

Bernie: "BERNIE GOES BOOM! .. BERN BABY, BERN !!"

Tino: "THE BAM-TINO !!"

Posada: "JORGIE JUICED ONE !!"

Golferdow01: "Yes Sloop those would be the guys I was referring to...I'll make sure to check out 880 from now on...thanks!"

I would strongly suggest not tuning in when the Yanks are in a slump. Sterling LOVES the Yankees, and when they're not doing well, he's extremely depressing.

The TV announcer for the White Sox is hilarious on his calls for strikeouts: "Oh, he gone!" And he throws in a "Oh, he gone....gaaaaaaaaaaasss" when the White Sox pitcher K's the guy with the heater. Funny stuff.

Also, I've seen two yankee games where an idiot falls onto the protective netting. Granted those were Red Sox vs. yanks games, and weird things tend to occur.
