Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

So, I think of odd things from time to time, and this morning was pondering what my top five pro-wrestling-themed band names would be. Here's the list.

1. The Squared Circle
2. Intestinal Fortitude
3. Gordon Solie
4. Turnbuckle
5. Figure Four Leg Lock

There was a local band (Amherst, Mass) called Foreign Objects that did a wrestling-themed album, with the "hit" song being "Wrestling Is Real." Unfortunately, I don't still have a copy of that album.

Also, the NYC band Killdozer 85, on their album There's No Mistaking Quality (released appropriately on Lucha Libre records), has a song called The Butcher's Big Score about Abdullah the Butcher. Here are some of the lyrics:

Piledriver
Head butt
Barbed wire
Built to cut
One way trip
Bloody shreds
Face rake
Till you're dead

The Dictators (from the Bronx) were huge wrestling fans, and their "secret weapon" - Handsome Dick Manitoba - appeared on the cover of their first album dressed in wrestling gear:

There have to be dozens more rock-wrestling crossovers. If I can think of any more, I will post them here.

Yep, that's the song. Thanks for posting it!

EDIT: I can't believe that I forgot to mention this band: The Naked Lady Wrestlers. Not naked, and not ladies. The band all had fake "wrestling" names - Baron von Rinehard, Bruiser Brownhouse, Buzzsaw Ironbill, and Max Volume. Their song "Dan With the Mellow Hair" appears on the Not So Quiet on the Western Front compilation, complete with wrestling-style smack before and after the song (Wahoo Biafra is Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys; Tim is Tim Yonnahan, the founder of Maximum Rock N' Roll). The smack is better than the song, and is worth a listen.

The fact that you know all this is extremely creepy.

I could watch Savage promos all day...that dude was out there, and Gene often had the WTF look on his face

The Savage/Okerlund exchanges have to be the best of all time, always entertaining.

I wish YouTube still had the full version of "YOUR MUSTACHE IS CROOKED!" but the WWE DMCA'd it. Theres a version on there but whoever put it up chopped it up and butchered it.
