Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

My issue is that her "angry" face, which is pretty much her go to performance face, makes her look constipated.

The biggest issue I had with her was one of her moves and her moveset in general...that fireman's carry twisty thing she does looks absolutely dangerous. If she leans back mid twist it will put the girl on her shoulders on her forehead. After that she had like 2 other moves. It was boring.

His best years were before WWE. He was positively awesome (and the time with Gene when he couldn’t say “The Narcissist Lex Lugar” is comedy gold).

There are so many. I’ll put in the Midnight Express
I've seen a lot of his AWA stuff, and I agree. Nobody was ever better.
As for the Midnights, I listen to Cornette's podcast every week. Big fan.

He and “Big” Scott Hall could have been the greatest tag team ever if the AWA had their shit together. How does this sound (remember, this is the mid-80s): AWA champ: Hulk Hogan (feuding with Bockwinkel, Vader, and Stan Hansen), AWA Tag Champs, Henning and Hall (feuding with the Road Warriors and the Rockers), AWA third title (TV, that they only awarded after it was too late): some combination of Sargent Slaughter, Baron Von Raschke, Colonel DeBeers, Rick Martel, Jimmy Snuka, and Greg Gagne

It could have all happened

Verne Gagne didn't have the business acumen to pull that off though.

Nope...and it was sitting right at his feet. He was an elite wrestler, and an elite trainer...as good he was at those things, he was terrible at business, and at updating with the times

That's ok - in that era Vince was the only one with that type of vision. Even Crockett took nearly another 5 years before his focus changed, and by that point he had nearly bankrupted himself (and ultimately sold out to Ted Turner about a year later). In a way you could view it is WCW was always going to fail, because every time it was about to die (or what made it up, CWF, UWF, JCP) was about to fail, someone came in and bought them or bailed them out. Once WCW got too big and AOL/TW decided to put it up for sale, there was no way it was going to be bought and made to survive as it's own entity.
