WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

With the Block O hot on his trail, according to Shugarts, anything is possible. They seem to connect well with just about everybody they talk to. Sweat, Jenkins, Beal... all these guys are stud recruits and all have OSU at the top of their lists (leaders, or tied). I don't think I have heard an update from Terrelle and any communication with our OL guys, but I fully expect that to change in a hurry.

Pryor attended a quarterback camp last week headed by Steve Clarkson, the guy who tutored future 5-time Heisman winner Jimmy Claussen.

So do they give him an extra year of eligibility or just give him an extra Heisman because he's so awesome?
I thought they were planning on rescinding Troy, Reggie, Leinhart, and White's heismans and just giving them to Claussen for his amazing high school years... I don't know, though for sure, just thought I read that somewhere...

I havn't followed the recruitmen of Pryor TOO closely, but it would seem like coming in the same class as three of the top six O-linemen in the country would be a QB's dream, not to mention the fact that he would also be able to be part of the loaded '08 basketball class. I've seen his recruitment mentioned by some of the O-line recruits we've gotten in the past couple days, has there been any response by Pryor about coming to OSU now that we've got some great o-line recruits comin in?

(Edit: ok, I thought I read somewhere that Rivals had our O-line recruits ranked as 3 of the top 6, but I looked and it wasnt true. Either way, the thought process would be the same it would seem.)

Well, Rivals doesn't, but Scout does.

I was at this camp (for other reasons) and Pryor was easily the best player there, though it was a weak crop overall. Throwing wise, he has the same effortless motion as VY, though Terelle is closer to a 3/4 delivery. I didn't see him run very much.

Hey old-timers, would Pryor be the highest touted QB recruit in Ohio St. history? Was Art Schlichter just as highly regarded?

Art was highly touted.

For me, the recruitment of Art Schlichter was a signal that OSU football was attempting to "keep up with the times" at that time, that is, more passing. For me, it signaled that the OSU offense was going to evolve. I remember being quite curious to see this evolution, seeing how an "old" coach in Woody Hayes...a man who stated that 3 things can happen when you throw a pass and 2 of them are bad....was going to evolve.

So for this "old-timer", the recruitment of Pryor doesn't signal a paradigm shift as did the recruitment of Schlichter. For me, that means that he is not as highly touted, since I look at the "touting" as causing a philosophical change.

As far a highly rated or highly regarded, I say that Schlichter was about the same level as Pryor. Keep in mind that there is a huge problem with trying to quantify this comparison as the recruiting world today is nothing like the recruiting world back in Schlicter's day!

7:00 pm - Bill "Bank" Greene found Terrelle Pryor playing on the court next to us. Afterwards, Pryor told us in an interview that he will visit Texas and Ohio State for sure this fall. Pryor also said he would likely wait until signing day before announcing a decision and that Jim Tressel was in his school this past Friday. Greene will have much more on Pryor's interview later this weekend.
