WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Pryor just didn't seem very sharp in the game last night. He seemed a bit tentative and not as aware or active as I was used to seeing him this year. This isn't that surprising though with him being a frosh and all and being in a big game.

He did amaze me with some of his runs. Just looks like he is gliding and effortlessly turns the corner. Passing was off though and he kept throwing off of his back foot. I'm hoping JT and coaches can work with him and improve alot of his mechanics because if he gets passing down...damn.

BTW, looked like an awesome red zone weapon at WR. Too bad there's only one of him.

Did Terrelle have a hand injury? I noticed his fingers were taped, which they usually aren't and many of his passes were well off the mark.
On top of that, he through about zero deep passes which we brought in Todd to do. Anybody else think something might have been up with Terrelle?

I thought there was something wrong with his hand/arm. He avoided contact on a couple of runs, running out of bounds shy of the first down, running out when he had 10-15 yards open, and not looking good throwing the ball at all.

However, he still played tough and did enough to get a W.

There is some chatter about that...no confirmation though.

exactly right. not to mention the texas d isn't just 11 cardboard cutouts. he really was off last night throwing the ball. but my god is he going to be good. he already has proven he has the arm to throw at the collegiate level. all he has to do now is put it all together. its going to be alot of fun watching him progress.

The good thing about Terrelle Pryor is that we know he is an athlete who will only continue to get better. I had a conversation with Chris Watt a while back and he was telling me about his visit to Ohio State and going through the WHAC at around 7 30 A.M. He went on to say that Terrelle was in there by himself working on dropping back and just throwing the ball into a net over and over again.
If there is one thing about TP that I have full confidence in, it's his work ethic. He will come back from this game, finally have an off season without basketball or track, and will get to work with some of the best coaches in the country on perfecting his weaknesses.
This kid is going to be special, and he will bounce back from this loss and go on to be one of the best to come through here IMHO.

Personally I think the world of Pryor, he is an incredible athlete! I like him at QB with his game changing running ability, but IMHO I think he could be a top flight NFL receiver. I would love to see him in a Percy Harvin role of running, catching, and even passing. The kid is dynamic in the open field, and in the red-zone FORGET about it! Unstoppable with his height, leaping ability, and knowing how to box out. Bauserman can wing it so it would be nice to see him and Terrelle on the field together alot next year. Boyd could be awesome with Pryor but he needs an ACL repair and may not be ready for the start of the year.

Dont get me wrong I am not giving up on Pryor as a QB, he is only a freshman, but IMHO he could be a legend in a wildcat role because he could add the element of passing. The D's would constantly be on their heels.

I am very proud of how we played last night!

Do you think he was instructed by the coaching staff to run out of bounds to avoid contact? I lost count of the number of times that he could have gotten 3-5 extra yards if he had taken 1-2 more strides. I can't wait for next season when he does take those extra strides.

And another thing

I cannot wait to see the next two years of Terrelle's career here at OSU. Considering what he has managed to do this year, I am even more excited than when that one guy was a freshman and we won the NC. I say only two years because I can't imagine this kid sticking around after winning the NC his Jr. year.

It also looks like Laurinaitis recruited him into the Main Event because Pryor was wearing cheek stripes this week with Phil 1:20: "I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death."

No need to be ashamed, Terrelle.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but his eye black said Phil 3:14. Not that this really changes the substance of your post.
