It's not about what you say, it's about how you say it. I may also take the unpopular opinion and agree that Pryor isn't ready for a starting position; but I would not say something as outrageous as:

"Pryor will never be better because it is in the head"

How can you even jump to that conclusion??

I love Pryor but always thought he was a slower learner . Nothing wrong with that. Hope he beats Flynn out. I see what you are saying now sorry. But I meant , just because they are both thick tall and have some speed that they necessarily shouldn't be compared as cam had probably the best rookie season ever for a quarterback and won rookie of the year and it putting up some stats now and Pryor is just now starting to come into his own. I get your point I worded it wrong! Go Pryor through ! I can think of 3 plays of his that could be in the top ten, but I could see Espn lumping them together.

Horseshoe I will admit , after watching Pryor tonight I think his potential is as high as Newtons. But you have to agree, for some reason it does take him a while to get IT but when he does watch out. He is really staring to come together in his third season. Raiders need to start him or let him go start and develop somewhere else

Your implication that TP is "slow" and doesn't get "it" completely contradicts his career at Ohio State. This is the same guy that unseated a senior All-Conference QB as a true freshman. As a sophomore he ripped apart a good Oregon defense for Rose Bowl MVP. As a junior he ripped apart a 1 loss Arkansas team for a Sugar Bowl MVP.

Throughout his career at Ohio State he operated in a pro-style spread offense that allowed him to make reads and audibles. Comparatively, Cam Newton ran an offense in which he never made audibles, didn't call out plays, and 75% of the time had 1 read to make in the passing game.

Life is about opportunities. Terrelle left college in about the worst possible way, and entered the NFL through the supplemental draft. He was suspended the first 6 games of his career for trading trinkets for tattoos. From a physical and mental stand-point, I think most knowledgeable football heads would tell you Pryor is superior. Gruden was blown away by TP's knowledge during their QB camp special. Had Terrelle played his senior year and dominated as everyone thought he would, he's likely a top 10 pick and handed the keys to a franchise the same way Cam did.

Long story short, your assumption is stupid.

Oakland's first-team defense was shredded and the usually reliable Sebastian Janikowski even missed a 49-yard field goal before connecting from 58 yards out on the final play of the first half to get Oakland on the board.

Pryor then electrified the crowd by leading a late field-goal drive in the first half and then running and throwing for scores in the third quarter. Pryor finished 7 for 9 for 93 yards passing to go along with 37 yards rushing and led Oakland to 20 points on five drives.

No, no , your assumption is stupid. You are making points with things from college? If cam had to do nothing in college why could he enter the Nfl and excell instantly? Once your in the nfl it is fair game , everyone gets chances from a understated player to the number pick. Do not tell me the reason Pryor hasn't started since his first year in theleague is because he was not given keys to the franchise. Cam did not do terrible when he played his rookie year like Pryor did. Be realistic.

A rookie coming in behind Carson Palmer and Jason Campbell is not going to get the same opportunities as a rookie coming in behind Jimmy Clausen and Derek Anderson.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn can be forgiven if he feels a sense of deja vu following Friday 34-26 preseason loss to the Chicago Bears.
It was a year ago this week that the Seattle Seahawks named Russell Wilson their starter, sending Flynn to the bench.

Flynn might be awaiting the same fate after he was thoroughly outplayed by Terrelle Pryor Friday night. Carrying the imprimatur of general manager Reggie McKenzie and the anointing oils of coach Dennis Allen, Flynn had to face plant in the third preseason game to leave the door open for Pryor.

That's exactly how it went down. Flynn's offense was a "debaculous fiasco," falling behind 27-0 by late in the second quarter while inviting a chorus of boos and "Pryor!, Pryor!" chants from the home crowd.

After a rocky first series, Pryor proceeded to light a fire under the previously lifeless Raiders. Making plays with his legs as well as his arm, Pryor led four scoring drives to bring his team within one score of the Bears in just over a quarter of action.

Allen will review the film before deciding on his Week 1 quarterback. "We gotta look at it. Don't think Matt Flynn played well," Allen said after the game, via the San Francisco Chronicle. "Terrelle gave us a spark. We're not going to make any decision tonight."
