I think there were three. He was lucky in regards to picks today.

His running game was his Heisman statement. His passing game today, aside from the two-play, 80 yard drive, was average at best. His completions were clutch, but he missed some pretty easy/important throws as well.

But he didn't turn the ball over, and that counts for a lot in a game like this. Good job for the most part TP.

True he had his struggles. He struggled more in the passing game than I thought he would, but was much better than last year IMO. He reverted back to old form sometimes, but I can certainly see improvement. Glad to see him running a bit more,. but I'd hope he could cut it back a bit more.

Needs work definitely, but he's a QB that I trust now and can win games, as apposed to last year's #2 game where he looked like a deer in headlights.

Yahoo! sports Dan Wetzel writes a good article (though I somewhat disagree with him) about Pryor and his potential vs. production.

...If Pryor ever puts it together, if he turns the proverbial corner and finds the consistency that his teammates and coaches swear he displays in practice, then Ohio State may be unbeatable. Put it this way, the Buckeyes didn?t really play that well Saturday (allowing two touchdowns on special teams, stalling in the red zone) and they absolutely controlled the 12th-ranked Hurricanes. It was a strange, disjointed game; one Ohio State could?ve won by 50 had it been firing on all cylinders.
In the end, that goes back to Pryor.

On the 12-27 performance, he did indeed miss on a number passes (at least 1 interception for sure was dropped, possibly 2 more) but honestly most QBs get away with a few possible INTs a game. Also, a few of the passes were catchable balls as well. Stoneburner missed at least one that I know of. I'm not very sure how many of the 12 completions were his receivers bailing him out, which often happens in other college games to boost that comp%.

I won't worry too much about the comp% and instead worry about the efficiency. He was a great playmaker today, and I trusted him to lead the offense. Its wasn't easy going against those Hurricanes defenders, they are fast and strong. I think that his passing is always improving, but like most true-Junior QBs, they still play like an underclassmen sometimes. By the Wisky game, I'd expect him to be smooth as silk.

I am just excited that Tressel and Bollman are going to open up his running game more.

All in all, he's still a work in progress...significantly improved, but still needs work. It needs to start with his short/dumpoff passes...to be blunt, he was awful on those today. Still makes some shaky decisions, but that's correctable as well. He'll get there. Look at the improvement he made over last season. I expect him to make similar gains this year.

Agreed. I don't understand why he struggles so much with those mid-short range passes so much. He's still throwing some low passes too. His throws to Posey and Saine were beautiful though. One of my favorite plays from today was his inside shuffle pass up the middle that went for good yardage.

After the first viewing (albeit "enhanced" by the activities during the game :biggrin:), Pryor looked good to me. He had, what, 350-360 total yards, no turnovers? Yeah. That is a damn good performance in my opinion.

Can he get better? Yes.

If this a typical "Pryor performance" this year, I will take it week in and week out.:osu:

Edit: I just saw the stats for the game. TP: 346 Total (233 passing, 113 rushing), UMiami Total Yards 352 (232 passing, 120 rushing) Pryor almost equaled their whole team in stats. That is STUD in my book.

I thought Terrelle did really well, considering the play calling got a little timid today. Not totally conservative as we've done in the past, but the 31 or the Dave or whatever they call the TB dive behind the pulling guard, on first down, it was too predictable.

I really like Pryor throwing on first down.

He was just a winner today.

But he still needs enough work that, I'm sad to say, he's just gonna have to come back next year!!! :biggrin:

I just watched TP's press conference and he said some of the balls would have made their target if it hadn't slipped out of his hand due to the rain, like the ray ray drop. Posey was open in the end zone and the ball just slipped. I wouldn't be to worried about it.

all his short misses were low, and as long as he's missing his short passes low, i'm okay with it. it's when you miss them high that you get yourself into trouble.
