WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Is Nick Kasa OK with this?

I'm hoping we play Colorado in the next couple years because that kid needs to shut his mouth...that's as disrespectful as it gets and he doesn't know Terrelle. Take that back, we'll be playing for NC's, so we likely won't play them but still. As TexasBuck said, I think his character shows in the Joe Daniels article.

As Chris Gamble used to say, "Done deal"...

The thought came to me today that as long as Terrell holds onto four or five solid offers at schools coveted by many players, there have to be several kids out there hoping to take his spot, or maybe a kid who's been told he'd have to be a walk-on gets at least a partial.

Anyone out there know how that works? Would OSU, or any other big program, be inclined to hold onto the slot and use it next year? At this point in time are there any fish out there worth the expense of a full ride?

My guess is that any ships any schools are leaving open for TP would either be banked or used on a walk-on player already with the team. I'm not sure there's that many "undeclared" players out there who are "worth" the ship... but.. I don't know for sure.

Decision nearing for Pryor
Top recruit says he will decide on college within week

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Terrelle Pryor carried a state basketball championship trophy as he walked out of the locker room and was mobbed by reporters. But the question hovering around Happy Valley had nothing to do with hoops.

The talented Jeannette High School senior said he will decide within a week where he will go to college and play football. It's the latest twist in the saga of one of the most hotly recruited Pennsylvania high school football players in years.

"Next week, I'm going to say the school I'm going to, sign it and get it over with," Pryor said after getting 23 points and eight rebounds to lead his team to a 76-72 overtime win over Strawberry Mansion in the Class AA title game.

...

Pryor's high school basketball coach, Jim Nesser, praised the dedication of his star, who said he wanted to hold off on official football recruiting visits until after basketball season was over. Nesser said he did not know whether Pryor would play basketball in college.

"I know he loves the game. I'm just going to tell you, I don't know if some of you guys realize the commitment that he's made to our basketball team," Nesser said. "So the kid's made a lot of sacrifices for our team. ... I have great respect for Terrelle Pryor."

Cont'd ...

If this kid can put all the distractions he has had to put up with on the back burner long enough to concentrate on his basketball and then take it to a championship winning level.... makes me wonder what he can't accomplish. I smell a couple more NC games in our future.

Whilst he may seem a little raw at the quarterback position in football (Reading coverages, pocket passing, etc.), he is most definitely not raw at basketball. He seems like a natural when he has the ball in his hand. If he comes here, he will definitely improve the basketball team next year imo.

No difference for UM. They had additional spots, and did not have any other qb options (Daniels went to USF).
PSU had additional spots but few are interested in playing for JoePa (see Pitt recruiting in-state dominance).
Oregon snagged a QB in this class. I'm not familiar with their scholarship totals nor other prospects... but they did not try to make an in-home before NLOID, so I doubt they thought they were a serious contender.
OSU did not have any other legitimate QB prospects, though I suppose that perhaps a plan B guy could've been pursued harder.
