WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Not to get off topic but I would like to put this out there:

I wish the cock who gave this feedback

Are you an idiot????

had the balls to at least put his name with it. I would love to have the opportunity to return his fire when he made a mistake on a post. Alas, a coward's a coward be it in cyberspace or real world.

Do you people actually believe we'll see a screen pass implemented in the O? I would love to, but like BuckStocks said, I've been waiting for that all my life....I'll believe it when I see it.
Where have you been since the mid 90s???? Yes we see it all the time, maybe not as a rb screen but we see plenty of fullback screens, bubble screens and wr screens. Coop used to use it a lot, but JT sticks to under screens, bubbles.

Um, I'm pretty sure I've seen every game we've played since 1994, and there have NOT been very many screens. A couple WR screens, maybe 2 RB screens in that time, and that's about it. There have been some passes in the flat, mainly to the fullback, but they are not true screens. Last year especially, a true screen would have worked wonders - it would have been a complete surprise to the opposing D, and it surely couldn't have done worse than our typical rushing attempt.

EDIT: Cooper did use more screen's than JT (I think Tressel has only run 2 :) ), but I don't think tOSU has ever used them as often or as well as they could.

two things mr. ginn should learn quickly...

1-dont fumble
2-patience

...i can see the bucks using a similar screen play that was prevelent for joey galloway this year....one crease and ginn is gone...

teddy will have a great freshman year... but he's a year away from anything approaching all-league status....lets keep some perspective here....

I'm with Buckstopshere. Ginn will see very limited time on offense and defense this year IMO. He may take either a punt or a kickoff back, but only if OSU really improves it's blocking on them. I definately think he ends up with a catch for a TD but IMO that's the only given. As a return man I think he'll end up splitting time with Holmes, another guy that could take one to the house.

I didn't read this thread too closely after the first few posts, so if this has already been mentioned, sorry...

David Boston did not return a KO 100 yards against BGSU. Michael Wiley did. I remember the play pretty vividly, and it was very definately #5.

Yep.. it was Wiley

NP, I was just kidding around with ya. We all dick up now and again, this thread was my latest. I screwed something up when I was copying and pasting the data and the results were pretty obviously FUBAR'd.

187 on a mutherfuckin rock

as for the seven different ways to score a TD (aka the seven deadly sins of ted ginn), i have some comments.

i have been watching teddy play now for the past few years and i have never seen him not approach these types of numbers in a game. sure the senate league sucks but he does this in every all star game too and i have seen him outside the senate as well.

kick and punt return for a TD, no doubt. this will probably happen before the end of september and very possible against dantonio and crew on the fourth if they kick to him.

catch a TD, it is only a matter of time. he will score a TD at least once every 6 or 8 touches in the passing game. he should at least get that many receptions this year regardless of PT. another no brainer.

throw a TD. this one may be tough, but i see ted being used in short yardage goal line situations like those bastards up north used steve breaston against us last year (possibly in combination with troy smith). i see ginn throwing a short td on a roll out or end around type play, probably a shovel pass to a block and release tight end. this may be unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility.

run for a TD. wr reverse. again probably before the end of september. cincy and marshall have no answer for ginn. he will get in the game for at least a couple of plays and he will score if given the ball. best part of this, if the D does overpursue the end around/reverse watch out for teddy to throw the ball. remember how wiley had the ability to run full speed towards the line of scrimmage yet still be able to throw an accurate enough ball downfield in an instant, ted has that same ability and then some.

int for a TD. this could be tough as i don't see much of an opportunity on D unless it is garbage time. fox, underwood, and youboty are all future NFL day one draftees and will not just make room for ginn. still though when it is garbage time (a rarity under tressel for sure) the other team will be pressing to move the ball and teddy will step in front and blur his way to the end zone.

return a fumble for a TD. i agree absolutely, this is just luck. you need to be in the right place at the right time. ted is in the habit of being in the right place at the right time so i wouldn't bet against him.

i agree 5 of the seven is probably pushing it but i wouldn't bet against ginn. all seven are certainly possible with his type of skills. i think 4 are fairly likely and the other three are certainly possible.

as for putting up a thousand on that, i don't have a thou in vcash, maybe mr sucknuts could spot me a thousand vcash on a 21 day loan?

lots of good posts in this thread since i went to work and then to see chris wells tonight. jamario is on my sked for tomorrow after work and i hope all the BP threads are as action packed as this one while i am out getting film. this site is starting to really pick up as football approaches. i rarely need to visit other sites for my buckeye fix (including my own) but i still visit them all like any good addict.

p.s. i know better than to ever bet against a marine. crack may be rotting away at my brain but i ain't that stupid.

i was pleasantly surprised as well. his catching ability looks pretty good. we have four potentially lethal wide receivers.

both in this game, and last year, it seems like our wide receivers are always open.
