WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (All B1G, All-American)

IMO these guys are two very different types of receivers. Ginn will be a Holms/ gamebreaker type and Hall will be a possession/Jenkins type. This comparison is very unfair and not even realistic IMO. These guys may end up complimenting each other. IMO we have alot of potential at WR and we are underrated at this position by most accounts. If teams start to double Holms they better be prepared for our other receivers.

Michael Jenkins is/was not a possesion type WR. Yeah, he has good hands and will go over the middle, but if you hit him in stride-fuhgeddaboutit-2002 Wisky game. NFL teams do not draft a possesion receiver in the 1st round.

WOW!!! I just got blasted by everybody. Well I hate to say it but Jenkins was the best possession WR OSU ever had look up the numbers. I'm not saying that Jenkins can't make catches like in the Purdue game. My point is that Michael Jenkins isn't going to burn past you like Holms. I know Jenkins ran the 40 well in the combine and surprised people. Ginn is going to use his speed to get open. Jenkins runs perfect routes and uses his big body to get seperation. IMO Jenkins will be a better NFL WR than he was in college and thats saying a hell of alot.

Ginn Will play some WR for Ohio State this year. He will be on the KO and PR teams as well as some defensive packages. He may even earn the starting job at cb by the end of the season. IMO it's crazy not to let this kid get some reps on offense. It's like having Maurice Green and not letting him run the 4x100 relay in the Olympics. The kid has toooo much talent to rot on the bench.

Think about this for awhile. Everybody is talking smack about the Michigan WR this year. I say what about our top 5-6 WR. I know they are inexperienced but man the possibilities are actually scary.

He's not the best "possession" receiver ever, although he's made some of the biggest and most clutch catches ever. A "possession" receiver implies that he doesn't have the speed or moves to break one big.

Whats scary is that its been said that Dukes is better then Holmes out of school and that Lyons is the same size as Hall was out of school, but stronger and faster.

My brother has a friend who coaches at Edgewater H.S. in Orlando. We were talking about Dukes a couple of months ago. He was comparing Dukes to Santana Moss and ofcourse Holms. He was ranting and raving about how OSU stole the best WR from Florida.

Devon Lyons fron everything I have heard is a manchild. The kid will be 17 this fall and is built like a sophomore in college. This was one of the biggest commits in last years class IMO. Everybody was ticked about certain WR we didn't get, but I like to look at the studs we did get. IMO Dukes and Lyons will end up being a better tandem than Jarett and Davis will.

Ginn takes honors:

Glenville's Ted Ginn Jr. has been named the Gatorade Ohio High School Track And Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight year.

Ginn won the 110-meter hurdles, the 200 meters, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team at this year's state track and field championships.

This past November, Ginn was named Gatorade Ohio Football Player of the Year. He will attend Ohio State University in the fall. Ginn joins Avon Lake's Mike D'Andrea (2002) and St. Ignatius' Mark Sylvester (2001) as former winners of the Ohio Gatorade award.

No Ginn to the Olympics

Can't believe this hasn't been on the board, but I couldn't find a thread on it so....

Ginn is not going to compete in the olympics. His 400 times were not what he needed and his hurdle times - although world class - were on the 3" lower HS hurdle.

He is now in the football conditioning program.
