WR K.J. Hill (Official Thread)

I can see an increase in TD catches but receptions may take a dip with the wealth of talent at the position and less passing attempts per game. I don't see Fields flinging it 40-50 times a game like Haskins' did last year.

Ohio State has officially named its captains for the 2019 season.

Senior safety Jordan Fuller and redshirt junior linebacker Tuf Borland, who are both returning captains from 2018, will be joined by J.K. Dobbins, Chase Young, K.J. Hill, C.J. Saunders and Jonathon Cooper as Ohio State's formal leaders for 2019, Buckeyes coach Ryan Day announced Monday.

Fuller is entering his third season as a starting safety for the Buckeyes and is one of the team's most experienced players, having played 39 games in his Ohio State career. Off the field, Fuller has been named an Academic All-American and an AFCA Good Works Team nominee.

Borland has played in all 28 of Ohio State's games over the past two seasons, including 20 starts at middle linebacker. He had 58 total tackles as a redshirt freshman in 2017, then recorded 67 tackles last season despite missing most of the spring and summer with an Achilles injury. Already a captain for the second time with another season of eligibility remaining after this one, Borland now has a chance to become Ohio State's second-ever three-time captain, a feat that has only been achieved by J.T. Barrett.

J.K. Dobbins, Chase Young, K.J. Hill, C.J. Saunders and Jonathon Cooper are all captains for the first time in their Ohio State careers.

KJ currently has 164 career receptions, which is 4th all-time at Ohio State, behind David Boston (191), Cris Carter (168), and Michael Jenkins (165). He is averaging exactly four receptions a game this year (20 catches in five games), and at that pace will tie Carter for #2 in this weekend's game, and would pass Boston as the all-time leader during The Game. He would also reach an even 200 all-time receptions in the game after the B1G CCG (bowl game or playoff semi-final).

Fifth-year senior wide receiver K.J. Hill achieved another milestone on Saturday, as well, when he became the ninth player in Ohio State history with 2,000 career receiving yards. He caught only one pass for 11 yards against the Badgers, but that was enough to extend his streak of consecutive games with a catch to 42, which leaves him just 17 catches away from David Boston’s school record of 191 career receptions.

This the perfect week to target him 13 times in the 1st quarter. Just get it out of the way

That's not entirely impossible.

14 consecutive passes called targeting KJ and then there's a call up to the booth from Day, 'Jesus Christ, Kevin, don't we have another damn play?'

Which get's the obvious response from the booth of, 'Yes we do, Coach. As soon as they stop this one, I'll call it.'
