WR Julian Fleming (transfer to Ped)

I don't like this transfer one bit. Julian would have been a senior presence in that room, and he was our best blocking WR on the team. Too bad this happened. Good luck Julian!
I'm 50/50 on this one. Senior gave his all fought through injury would be a steadying presence. But at the same time at some point it's time to let the young pups play or transfer portal is going to kill depth.

I expect Marv to be gone. Probably Egbuka as well.

I think Fleming has an opportunity to go be a #1 at another program. Not sure his role changes at all if he came back. Xavier Johnson even though he was sold on new role to come back kind of showed that.

Fleming probably was looking at being the #2 WR at best or just the exact same role as the #3 WR next year. He can improve his draft stock somewhere else and show what else he can possibly do with a lot of targets.

WRs are supposed to catch the ball, if all you're doing is blocking, then you can't stay in this WR room. But good luck to Julian

Fleming wouldn't even be in the top 4 next year in this WR room, and that's removing MHjr, X and EE! He had some brutal drops this season

Same here, this one stings extra to me...would have had a lot better opportunity to show out with MH Jr and Egbuka presumably going pro. Good luck to him wherever he goes but this team is going to look a lot different next season whether for the better or the worse.

He's looking at Inniss in his rear view mirror... I'm a huge Fleming fan... but Inniss is going to be ELITE
I am about the biggest Innis fan out there (he was my pick for most star potential in the BRPT review last year), but on Fleming it is about veteran leadership and effort with his blocking. Tate got some really good experience this year and likely will in the bowl game along with Innis, but we have a ton of leadership leaving when you add Fleming to those departing along with MH Jr, Egbuka and X even though our young talent is absolutely absurd. Hopefully they are so good that it won't matter, I do trust Hartline more than any coach on our staff when it comes to that.

I think everyone gets it and in a perfect world you’d have younger guys who would love to learn behind Fleming. Unfortunately we don’t live in that world. You have two guys on the roster right now with at least 2 years left who could go anywhere and start and the #1 overall recruit in the country who could flip his commitment and do the same.

Losing multiple years from any of those guys is just not worth another year of Fleming. And I love Fleming. Couldn’t ask for a better team guy. But he’s just not good enough to take the risk on losing one of those other 3.
