WR Johnnie Dixon (New Orleans Breakers - USFL)

Really excited about this kid's future, I think he will be pretty special. Would be really nice to pull one away from South Florida, especially since we're head to head with da U and Alabama.

I've seen several comparisons to Santonio Holmes......was wondering if the BPRT could confirm, and if not, who would you guys compare him to?

I usually don't buy into the whole "early contributor" stuff. Everyone thought Mitchell was going to come in and fix the problems at LB. He ended up red-shirting. So did Jalin Marshall who was going to light up the scoreboard out of the slot. Rarely does a freshman at a place like OSU have the kind of impact that a Joey Bosa did. That's because they are supposedly recruiting the best at their position year in and year out. Only the ones who are truly special and developed can come in and play here early.

Having said that...Johnnie Dixon is a guy I could see competing for early time. He is built like a stronger version of Santonio Holmes...or Antonio Brown. That's the kind of size that can allow a 5-11 guy to play on the outside. I know everyone is talking up Michael Thomas and more recently Corey Smith as guys who will step up big next year. I even compared Smith to Santonio last year...and I still think he is going to be a good one. But Dixon is a guy that if he doesn't see the field I think he will be pushing the guys in front of him hard. Freshman WRs usually just don't show up looking like this:

There's players that have excellent athletic ability but has to be taught season after season on how to break tackles or generate YAC. Then there are players who have at least equal athletic ability and already have great instincts for the game.

I'm with Wade that Dixon is going to push for serious pt next year.
