Here is Wiltfong's latest report from the recruiting trail:

OHIO STATE FENDING OFF FLORIDA, FSU AND MIAMI TO RETAIN 5-STAR WR JEREMIAH SMITH​

"Florida is fighting. Florida State is fighting. Miami is fighting. But Ohio State fans shouldn't sweat over Jeremiah Smith. He's ultimately going to sign with the Buckeyes. It's the program that has proven that they can develop him into a first-round draft pick. His relationship with Brian Hartline is second to none. He's going to be at Ohio State's home opener in two weekends. He'll be back for the Penn State game later in the fall.

"I feel very good about Ohio State signing Jeremiah Smith when it is all said and done. These other programs will keep trying to chip away with game visits this fall. Florida State still has an official down the road. He spoke highly about those in-state programs. But it is going to take a lot to flip Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State, and I think that he's going to sign with the Buckeyes in December."
