WR Jeremiah Smith (All B1G, B1G Freshman of Year, B1G WR of Year, All-American, 2025 Rose Bowl Off MVP, National Champion)

His catch at the end of the game was pretty damn cool even if it didn’t mean anything.

Still looked slightly banged up, but made some great plays. Hope he’s healed up and ready for the playoffs.

That play when he slipped (and still caught it) seemed to tweak his lower back. He hasn't looked like himself for two weeks now (and he's still a monster).

I worried about this when I saw him during the UCLA game and on the sidelines against Rutgers.

When I was 27, I was pulling a heavy Romanian Deadlift, rounded my back and permanently herniated my L1-5. After that, it was never the same, and I was lucky to get back in the cockpit. I still “pop” it every year whether it’s because of sports or working out. Usually can push past the pain after a few weeks and can perform physically through adrenaline.

But the immediate signs are there that I saw from Smith: forward upper body tilt into a favorable position, slow-concentrated steps because of nerve damage stemming from the spine down into the legs, tightness in the hips and siatica, hand curling because of the pain. I just know that walk and look very very well. I’m hoping this is just muscular and not disc-related.

Thank god we have a few weeks to get him some more therapy. But this doesn’t feel hamstring, Achilles, or calf-related at all. It feels lower-back related:
