FB coach interviewed, speaks kindly of Tressel & facilities, but moreso of UM practice and fitting RR's system. Offered by Tenn, will visit SC & UCLA unofficially, and MSU again. Claims Jackson is still wide open in response to 'OSU leads' rumor.

That wasn't really a 'no'.

Thanx for heads up & link. Becoming a favorite, 4.31 probably having something to do w/that. Only seen one piece of film, liken him a little to Deonte Thompson, obvious reasons. Like to know more about his ball skills.

From TheWolverine...talks about his visit to UM for a spring practice yesterday. Talks about talking with RR and how he could fit in RR's system. Will visit UCLA later this month and may stop in at USC as well.

Anyone else question that 4.31 40? I've only seen a few clips but he looks nowhere near that elite Ginn/Flash Thomas speed.
According to Scout, James won the Michigan state championship in the 100m dash as a sophomore (no time listed).

Here's a link that indicates that James posted a 10.72 in the 100m: LINK. Maybe Ginn and Thomas could do a little bit better than that, but 10.72 is still flying.

Of course, "track speed" isn't the same thing as "football speed", but I think that it's safe to say that Jackson is "fast"....

The orginal post has some track statistics that are wow-worthy. I think it's reasonable to doubt the 4.31 40 (probably hand-timed) but this kid seems like a track stud the likes of a Flash Thomas

Thanks. You're right, that is fast but it's more in the Ray Small category than Ginn's.

I'm with you. The track numbers are impressive but he didn't look like a 4.31 on film. Berry ran a 4.3 recently and he looks much faster than Jackson for comparison. On the other hand, the clips were limited so it really didn't show much. Plus I have a suspicion those may be his sophmore highlights.

Just curious which tape you guys are watching...I watched the tapes on Rivals and Scout and I see that speed when he gets into the open field he just blows away guys...lots of his plays are not really conclusive to seeing his top end speed, but you do see the moves in and out of cuts where he doesn't lose speed...

And I do believe that they are all sophomore tapes...

Rivals...I just watched it again and while he gets going decent on the first 2 clips, I definetly wasn't that impressed with the last 4 or 5. You could see that he is fast but just not 4.31 fast. If they are sophmore tapes then that makes since then. I look forward to seeing his junior film.

Yeah they are sophomore, same as Scout clips who has two films and they are sophomore films...Watch the guys in the first two clips that have angles on him and he just blows by them...Really can't get much out of the clips in terms of WR ability, but I think speed is obvious, and 4.3 is a stretch for anyone, but his track times back up his speed...
