WR Dane Sanzenbacher (Official Thread)

So, I'm reading through the older stuff in this thread now, as I don't really follow recruiting so much and miss a lot of this stuff when it's posted, but I just wanted to bump this gem from Page 3 (July 8, 2006):

While I do agree about the young mans attitude and desire to be a buckeye, I think this young man is a serious reach by this staff. I can see making an offer if you have room in December (late) but in July????

His current offers are all MAC schools with the exception of Iowa. I just dont see him ever making a major contribution. He's not particularly tall and IMO he is too slow to put in the secondary. Basically, he is probably going to be a possession type reciever or special teams player. Thats why Im really surprised at an offer this early given his size, speed and offers

The time in the 400 has no relationship to how fast you are in the 40. Thats almost like comparing his time in the 800 to the 40

Not to beat a dead horse, but Butch Reynolds really likes Dane's speed and maybe a few others as mentioned in this article. Dane and Brandon, like coach Reynolds were successful in the 400m. Do we still think he's slow?

I think this topic is dead. Dane is football fast!

Scout.com: Notebook: Who's The Fastest And More

This year, the Buckeyes welcomed in freshman Brandon Saine, the state's prep record-holder in the 100-meter dash. While Reynolds said Saine's speed is impressive, he pointed to a player who has rehabilitated a knee injury as being his equal.
'Anderson Russell, he's a beast back there,' Reynolds said. 'He's as fast as Brandon Saine in the 100 meters. I don't know who's the fastest anymore. Taurian Washington is fast. Then you have (Dan) Potokar. Then you have this freshman dude, Dane Sanzenbacher. This boy is fast. He's got good hips.'

He caught one today and made a few good blocks. Onto Washington********

Go Bucks:osu2:

Yeah I know what you're sayin.. I think losing Ted and Gonzo have really hurt us in our speed category obviously but most importantly we don't really have a true deep threat. Robo is an amazing talent and has great hands but he's more sneaky speed like Hartline. I think what this offense is missing is someone with straight up sprinter like speed were is where small will help us this upcoming week. We need Scoot next week in the slot though

Saine could fill that spot as a WR for the deep threat too. We know that he has the "Zoom" to do it. Maybe JT has a surprise or two in store for the Washington game. Saine caught over 400 yards as a senior in HS. I can see the secondary running all over hell's half acre this week. Then boom, Beanie runs one in. then they go wide and Scoot catches a few. They give the ball to Zoom and he's a threat there too. Then TB hits Robo... Mix it up and keep the D on their toes. Ray Small comes in and well we have plently of weapons to use, we need TB to have a good day getting the ball to them.

Zoom, Small, Beanie, Scoot, Robo, repeat after me...let's hope we don't need the Eraser.
