WR Carnell Tate (National Champion)

In reference to Carnell? The guy that didn't play this week?
I wasn't talking about "this week" , and not only in comparison to Smith but overall as well. Actually I was trying to say the same thing Jeremiah said earlier this year .
"when we see man [coverage] against any of our receivers, we're going to take a shot down the field".
So my intent was to project Tate as good at getting open as Smith.

Buckeye Huddle said they asked about him today and was told “no update”.

Not a great thing to hear as I wouldn’t think feeling tight but still being available to play would translate to an unknowable status on Tuesday. I’m wondering if they’re going to sit him another week out of caution and then get him some reps against Rutgers.

My hope is they've learned their lesson from their handling of JSN in 2022 and aren't going to risk bringing him back too early against tomato cans

He seemed fine on the sideline against Purdue. A few teammates (offense and defense) came up and seemed to check on him. Body language wise he seemed to brush off any concern and the guys talking to him seemed OK and then dapped him up like they understood. There wasn’t any head down or consoling him.

He stayed in pads the whole game and helped catch passes for QBs warming up. Seems highly highly precautionary to my untrained eye.

Absolutely clutch. Reminds me so much of Michael Thomas and EE with the fluidity and sure hands.

Great way to describe him. Not as physical as Thomas but that might help him stay healthy longer. Plus, he’s faster.

I’m always so impressed how much these guys improve in one offseason. Tate went from a good 3rd WR with a ton of potential to the 2nd best WR in CFB. Just the latest in a long line of players who put in the work and take huge leaps from one year to the next.
