WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion)

You are like an expert at buttering up BP posters.
Meh. I think I balance that out pretty good. :p I like Miller better than Driskel from what I've seen at this stage of both of their careers. Driskel was having problems with FAU's defense. Plus, I have enormous respect for Urban's opinion on talent. He is sold. And if he is, then so am I. I hope John works out for us this year, but it is far easier for an athlete to buy time and escape the big loss than it is to create some kind of Peyton Manning in college in a few years. In the college game his lack of wheels meant three losses to UF over his career. For success the other way, see Vince, Cam, Tim, TP, etc. Those guys keep drives alive with their athleticism. I want that, and I envy anyone who has one of those freaks of nature.

Nothing like killing the kids confidence. He did fine vs Akron, Joe is struggling, and they don't even so much as warm him up. Just like during the Akron game in his first series when he did nothing wrong, and they still pulled him for Joe again. If you are going to not redshirt him, then use the kid. To make it seem like he is competing and going to play, and then just keep him wondering WTF is going on, just stupid to me.

You really think Joe is the starter because he's older? You don't think it has to do with the coaching staff believing he gives them the best chance to win? That may change after practice this week, but evidently Miller didn't show the coaches enough in practice to make a change going into the Toledo game. They probably know a little more about it than you do.

I am sure that helps a lot yes. Joe has been there forever waiting his time, that is why I think they didn't take him out. Braxton is young so they are worried about him, but it's kinda unfair if they don't even give him the same shot as they do with Joe when they say they are pretty much going to. Don't say he'll play today and then not even give it much of a thought when Joe wasn't performing.

And you dont think benching Joe after one "so-so" game would kill his confidence. The miracle season of 2002 had so many close calls every week, and Krenzel wasnt always perfect.

How about we let Joe head into practice with the starting job, let him learn from this weekend and move on to prepping for Miami. If Joe struggles against the Hurricanes, let Braxton go in.

Just because we have a highly touted prospect doesnt mean he should or has to be at the helm. Choose wisely, Braxton may not be the save-all you are looking for.
