QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Top prospects: Braxton Miller is arguably the top dual-threat quarterback prospect in the nation and is considered to be the heir apparent to Terrelle Pryor. Miller scored over 25 touchdowns last season and had a dynamic opener, rushing for over 200 yards in a 35-28 loss to Cincinnati Moeller. Miller chose the Buckeyes over offers from virtually every major program in the state and has went above and beyond his commitment when he tattooed the Ohio State "O" to his shoulder.

Yeah, those SEC, ACC and Big 12 offers didn't mean anything, because he chose Ohio State over Cincinnati and Toledo. But I wouldn't expect anything less from ESPN.

OSU recruit Miller enters senior year with 50 TDs

ASSOCIATED PRESS ? September 3, 2010

CINCINNATI -- Some people are said to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Braxton Miller has his tattooed on his left shoulder.

The Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne High School senior quarterback has the famous Ohio State block "O" permanently inked on his shoulder, further indication of the passion that led to his verbal commitment in June to the Buckeyes.

"I just wanted to get it out of the way -- get it off my chest, get the pressure out of the way," the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder right-hander told the Dayton Daily News. "The recruiting process was real nice, but I just wanted to settle down and be committed to my school."

Wayne runs over Seneca, 31-7, in home opener

Wayne quarterback Braxton Miller, a verbal commitment to Ohio State, and Seneca's DaMarcus Smith, a future Louisville Cardinal, were expected to light up the scoreboard. But with the exception of one Seneca TD on a long pass -- that was set up by a defensive breakdown by Wayne that left a RedHawk receiver with no one in a red jersey within 15 yards of his position -- the quarterbacks were pretty much a non-factor.

Miller connected on 10 of 23 passes for 93 yards and threw one interception. Smith, meanwhile, was just 10 of 34 passing for 162 yards, 79 coming on that one TD to Brady Pace.

Miller, however, did lend leadership to a Warrior offense that missed his presence a week ago against Canton McKinley.

"He has a command of the offense," Wayne coach Jay Minton said. "He makes such a difference. The kids just felt so much better with him being out there."

Miller threw just one pass in the Warriors first scoring drive as the legs of Anthone Miller and Seth Stuart, alternating runs and moving the ball from the Wayne 19 and culminating with Stuart's two-yard run for the TD with 7:11 left in the first quarter.

Wayne swarms over rival Trotwood
Heralded QB Braxton Miller doesn?t run, but other facets work wonders for Warriors.

HUBER HEIGHTS ? Braxton Miller, the star Wayne High School quarterback, still has a gimpy left ankle, keeping him from the explosive running plays that made him such a threat for his first three high school seasons.

?That?s OK,? Miller said, smiling. ?My arm?s doing the work.?

His backfield doesn?t hurt, either. Neither does a swarming defense.

Miller passed for 133 yards and a touchdown, and running back Anthone Taylor rushed for 155 yards and a score as the Warriors topped visiting Trotwood-Madison 21-7 on Friday.

Wayne evened its season at 2-2 after an 0-2 start. The second loss, against Canton McKinley, came without Miller, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Wayne?s opener. In the past two games, both wins, Miller hasn?t even made a rushing attempt, almost unbelievable for the Ohio State recruit.

But the pocket passer is making it happen.

?We won?t ask him to do it if he can?t do it,? Wayne coach Jay Minton said of Miller?s mobility.

When will Wayne QB Braxton Miller run again?
By Kyle Nagel | Thursday, September 23, 2010

In the past two weeks, Wayne High School quarterback Braxton Miller has surprised onlookers by not showing the running ability for which he is widely known.

It?s a topic we addressed after Wayne beat Trotwood-Madison last week. In the two games Miller has not registered a rushing attempt, Wayne (2-2 overall) is 2-0.

That?s no small feat. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Ohio State recruit injured his left ankle with a high ankle sprain suffered near the end of Wayne?s season opener against Moeller (a game in which Miller rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns). He then missed Wayne?s loss against Canton McKinley that dropped the Warriors to 0-2.

For the past two games, he has only passed, and Wayne is undefeated in that time.

But the question remains: When will Braxton Miller run again?

Wayne travels to Xenia on Friday before hosting Springfield (the school of Miller?s hometown) on Oct. 1. No question he would like a strong performance against the Wildcats, both because of his relationships there and Springfield?s skill.

For the time being, though, Miller keeps saying he?s just trying to improve.

?I?m trying to rehab so it can be 100 percent,? Miller said after the Trotwood game. ?That?s what I need and what my team needs.?

So, he was asked, are you eventually going to get back to being a rushing threat?

?I?m gonna get back,? he said.

Xenia no match for Miller, Wayne

By WAYNE BAKER
Sports Editor

XENIA - Highly-touted Wayne Warriors quarterback Braxton Miller rolled into town Friday night and watched his supporting cast dominate the game en route to a 44-3 beatdown of the Xenia Buccanneers.

Both teams entered the game with identical 2-2 records, but with quite a different football pedigree. The Warriors have garnered national attention because of their Ohio State bound superstar, Miller, and a stable of running backs with blazing speed, plus, a gigantic offensive line, featuring 6-3, 340-pound Kyle Artis.

Wayne got on the board first on a 35-yard field goal by Marshall Newsome, after marching 52 yards behind some nifty yards after catch running from two of the team?s lighting fast running backs, Seth Stuart and Anthone Taylor.

Xenia?s pedigree is its ground game and effort, but Wayne?s talented linebackers, John Senter and Anthony Hunter, were busy stuffing the Bucs? running backs all night. Hoping to get back into the game, Xenia went three and out after a costly holding penalty inside their 20-yard line and a short punt put the Warriors in business in the Bucs territory at the 41-yard line.

Continued...

Miller, who has been nursing a high ankle sprain since the season?s opening week, was composed and efficient in the pocket. His ability to run the offense and not make mistakes, while staying healthy was important to Minton.

Statistically, Miller ran the ball once for minus four yards and only was 8/16 for 105 yards passing and a touchdown. Taylor ran nine times for 219 yards. Morgan ran eight times for 97 yards and Stuart had nine carries for 40 yards. For Xenia, Harden ran 16 times for 60 yards.

Can anyone re-assure me please? 9-30, and 3 picks, is merely from a lack of talent around Brax....right?

From that video I would say that lack of talent around him is a possibility. I saw a few dropped passes that should have been easy TDs. It was a pretty short video so it could be that he had a meh night. Might try to go to one of his games to see for myself.
