WR Brandon Inniss (Official Thread)

Normally I’d think this is hyperbole, but I think this is pretty true.

He already has a college ready body type (where Tate probably needs a year to bulk up a bit) and he has the hands and elite athleticism.

MH Jr.
Inniss
Emeka

With Flemming rotating in and Cade sticking around at TE.

Lotta nice weapons.

Just to play devils advocate, I think there’s a way we see Ballard, Grayes or Brown play as well. So much freaking talent in that WR room. But I could see Tate, Rodgers and Rogers redshirting. And I’m sure Antwi will fight for PT as well(Burton still seems quite small, and there’s been a hardly a word mentioned about him so far)

Ok, well a monkey wrench was thrown into my plan with Xavier Johnson returning. What an embarrassment of riches

I don't see Tate redshirt either. These guys come in nowadays with so much advanced coaching and training is all about the intangibles like blocking. They'll see the field how much is on them

Let’s say that Hartline plays 6-7 WRs in ‘23(I personally see closer to 5-6), that’s:
MHjr
Egbuka
Fleming
Ballard
Johnson
Inniss

I wonder who is the 7th then, because that’s going to be one of the toughest battles on the team. Antwi, Brown, Grayes, Burton, Tate, Rogers for 1 spot

Shit... I hope more than 3 plays. Let's not be greedy now.

Hartline hasn't rotated at all for 3 years now. In 2021 we had Egbuka and Harrison as options and it took Olave/Wilson opting out for them to see the field.

I know we all want a deeper rotation but we're going to do the opposite of that more than likely.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm not very keen on Hartlines approach to playing time.

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to carry 10+ stud WR’s when 3 or 4 actually play and we struggle to field a solid 2 deep on the OL. Need to allocate a few more resources (bodies) to the OL room.

Yeah I hear ya.... we are going to have a few transfers in the WR room before the season starts IMO.

It’s possible but not a given, IMO….unless OSU tells them they’re better off looking elsewhere.

Kind of like Day and QB’s, it’s prob better for your development to get the coaching and reps under Hartline for multiple years, rather than leaving for immediate PT at a school where the room isn’t as well coached up. I think a guy like Jameson Williams would even say the time he got at tOSU was imperative to his success at Bama. In that regard, I could see some guys who’d typically bail for “greener pastures” actually realize for their long term development it’s prob better to stick it out a few years and maybe take advantage of your senior year elsewhere….but give Hartline at least 2-3 years to work with you developmentally.

I think for the most part, that is also the mindset in the QB room under Day….Quinn Ewers being the lone guy to Buck that trend….but he also had a 7 figure NIL deal in TX….

Oh I agree but I think some of the kids from 2023 are going to force some transfers.
