WOW, 12 step program for those addicted to e-mail

I understand why, I get 20-25 pertinent emails a day that require a response and I've only been here 7 months. I spend easily 1/3 of my job emailing.

Same here, although my job is more like 50% emailing. I work with people all over the world, and it would be really expensive to call everyone; plus, I'm never aware of the time difference, so it would be my luck that I would call one of my editors in Australia and it would be 6 a.m. his time! My job runs much more smoothly with email!

:shake: Denial is not a river in Egypt Sushi... the first step is to admit your email problem... blaming your addiction on "time differences" doesn't cut it.

Now I'm off to email my coworkers Thump's words of wisdom in post #7...

I know I have email pet peeves, I hate when I email someone so they feel the need to call me in response.....

If I had wanted to talk to your sorry ass I would have called in the first place. I can quit whenever I want.

I hate that, too. Luckily, that only has happened with one vendor. I have caller ID at work, so I would see her number pop up and not answer it. I knew that she would email me 5 minutes later anyway:p

I'm totally with you there. 2 jobs ago I was in constant contact wih a sister facility in England and email was basically the only option after 11AM.

Oh I hate that as well. People occasionally do this to put you on the spot so you can't come up with thoughtful responses. These are the "asshats" IMO.
