Would you like college football in the spring time?

If not for the tradition would you be happy if the NCAA/NFL split up.

I know it goes against tradition and such but I was thinking today... I'm having a very hard time going this long without football. They kind of overdose in the Fall with Saturdays and Sundays so that we suffer the withdrawls harder in the offseason, It might be nice if college was played in the Spring to keep my football focus year round, as Ricky Williams Canadian results are hardly doing it for me, and I love the Chicago Rush but they're simply not the same.

I'd watch college football in a boat,
I'd watch college football with a goat,
I'd watch college football in my car
I'd watch college football in a bar

I would watch it here or there
I would watch it anywhere.

More seriously, one of the greatest successes of football is the length of the season... it keeps you wanting more... Hockey, Baseball, NBA... all those seasons go on and on, and there are games every day of the week. Not so in football.

Regular games in the spring are a bad idea. The end of the season is the bowl game. You don't want to start the next season in the spring as the next year's freshmen aren't in school yet, etc. However, if anything they could increase the spring practice by a week or two, and have a couple scrimmages (i.e. practice games) against another team. If Ohio State can get over 60,000 fans @ $5 per person in "the shoe" for an intra-squad game; I'm sure they could get over 100,000 fans @ $25 per person (making well over $2.5 million with concessions and parking) for a practice game vs scUM.

a scrimage is an awesome idea. let them warm up with the S&G game then play a scrimage a week or two later. however, i would not like to see it against scUM. I don't need to see those ugly ass helmets on our field more than 1 time a year
