Worst Trilogy or Quadrilogy Ever?

No mention for the Spider-Man triolgy one way or the other?

I mean, I'm lukewarm on it too.

Oceans 11 was only good because they had something to steal DIRECTLY from. It was made painfully obvious as decently witty characters turned into an amalgam of caricatures of themselves and a blending of personalities. And the story sucked. I haven't even bothered with Ocean's 13 because 12 ruined 11 enough for me.

As far as I'm concerned, if it's not The Godfather, it's hard to be a great trilogy. LoTR's the king of high-fantasy novels, but poor editing and some sub par performances leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Star Wars has some BRUTALLY bad acting in it. Either trilogy. From main characters.

Now, I love both LoTR and while I'm in the age group that didn't grow up with either Star Wars trilogy, I do enjoy both of them. It's not to say either of them were good.

Alien Triolgy was pretty well done, and even though the teasers for Alien III portended Aliens on Earth and was a big lie, it was still impressive. Alien Resurrection is total trash and AvP I was not much better. The first three, as a trilogy, can definitely be classified as good.

Almost all of the horror ones qualify:

Halloween: the original is one of my all-time favorite movies...wow should that have stopped there, and for God's sake it should have stopped after he blew up at the end of the 2nd one. Halloween 3 I think gets the distinction as the single weirdest fucking "sequal" ever as it had absolutely nothing to do with the first 2. I won't even bother to comment on 4, 5, H20...or the Rob Zombie goat placenta of a remake.

Nightmare on Elm Street: Again, the first one was actually prety decent, relatively original story, creepy villain, a young Johnny Depp...the mother was a terrible actress, but it was a good movie nonetheless. It went seething downhill from there, and the craptacular volume of sequals has ruined the appeal of the original.

Friday the 13th: First one wasn't good per se, but was at least decent...not many remember it was actually Jason's mother that was the killer in #1. The 2nd was awful, #3 was kinda campy, and the rest were pitiful. Jason Takes Manhattan should get an offical Congressional Reprimand.

Hostel: Not a big fan of either movie, the ending of the 2nd one can be considered shocking only if you consider how much of your life and your money you won't get back watching a dog stare at a rubber dick.

Jurassic Park: Original was good, sequals were awful.

I was younger when this movie came out so don't make fun of me for posting this but I thought the first Home Alone movie was kinda' funny but the rest of them sucked. I like the Halloween series. After the first couple Friday the 13th movies, they were terrible(how many damn times can a hockey player be resurrected:) and Freddie vs. Jason was a waste of time). Also, the sequels to Silence of the Lambs all sucked compared to the first. Oh, and the Teenwolf movies wtf.
