Worst sports writer yet?

Many members of the NCAA said that Alabama should have gotten the death penalty, but they didn't want to ruin an SEC schhol they way they did SMU. Those who live in .01" thick glass houses shouldn't fire a howitzer.

You don't HONESTLY believe we landed on the moon do you??? *ducks*
I would love to see a rematch against Alabama for those two Bowl losses they handed us, so I also vote to swap them into the schedule for N-Illinois.

gregorylee: "IT'S ROLLIN' BABY... IT'S ROLLIN'!!!!"

You do know that the whole Mark Price incident was a set-up by the Big Ten, NCAA, & other anti-SEC Yankee conspirators, right?

OB: "The next article by this guy will discuss how the moon landing was a hoax."

I actually have my suspicions that the moon landing was indeed a hoax.

I live in Alabama (I am from Ohio) and I heard a little of this talk on local sports radio. They were complaining that Clarett was at the combine in Indianapolis and the NCAA did not "walk across the street" to interview him [giving OSU a pass]. Clarett won't talk to the NCAA so what can the NCAA do? [if it was true why won't Clarett step up and help the NCAA?] As for the cars, didn't Clarett borrow most of those from family and friends? Alabama fans are paranoid and they think the NCAA is out to get them. Many believe the NCAA stuff is all payback for Bear Bryant. In their estimation, Bear Bryant told the NCAA what to do and when to do it and now the NCAA is trying to punish them.

The strange thing to me about the Albert Means scandal is that the University of Alabama admitted to the cheating. Alabama fans now say that if they had fought they would have beaten the NCAA. Whatever. There is a lawsuit against the NCAA filed by the two Alabama coaches who lost their jobs as a result of the Albert Means scandal that is scheduled to start this summer in Tuscaloosa. Alabama fans think Fulmer was the key NCAA witness to the scandal even though he and the NCAA claim he was not. It should get real ugly.

Just remember, you need to consider the source on these things. People outside of Ohio only know what ESPN tells them. Thus, they do not know what the truth is.

the ncaa will never give the death penalty again, it has absolutly ruined a school with a rich football history. It is still hard to comprehend that the place that gave us the pony express and doak walker is now the worst football team in america, year in and year out. the only thing that smu is good for now is filthy stinking rich girls. I mean Uber rich. like enron rich.

SMU's football program was given the "death penalty'' by the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) in 1986 which banned SMU's football team from competing for 1 year and playing a limited, away games only, schedule in its second year of probation. SMU officials elected instead to not compete at all in the second year of the ``death penalty'' probation and put its efforts into restructuring its student- athlete code and putting an end to the quasi-professional nature of athletics that were so relevant at SMU.
The quote is from an SMU site. They were banned from college football for one year, and severely restricted for the second year. SMU chose to not play for the second year.
