Anyone old enough to remember Herman's Hermits? Truly awful stuff in the very heart of the best of rock and roll.

You are dead to me.

Crimson and Velvet, Tommy James and the Shondells, could well be one of the most irritating songs ever foisted on the listening public, even now my fillings itch when I think of that song.

Crimson & Clover? Awful song.

As for bad songs, this one makes me wants to shoot myself:

Read the comments about "corporate bands." Never truer than when "The Monkees" were created complete with TV show that shamelessly ripped off all that the Beatles and Dylan did in video/film.

I certainly won't argue that the music is in anyway meaningful......but I find both the Monkees and Herman's Hermits to be light-hearted, catchy, and fun to listen to. Sometimes....that's all I need from the radio. Still light years better than "new" music, IMO.

BK, I never took you to be one of US. Apache, Hineybuck, BB73, me and possibly Gatoryoubutt, (I mean, listing Bobby Goldsboro and Billy, Don't Be a Hero) that is, those of us who have achieved an age of distinction.

I'll overlook your addiction to Herman and not sentence you to ride the Last Train to Clarksville, just don't tell me that you bought the Archie's album when it hit the streets.

As for light-hearted and catchy, my divorce coincided with the release of I Can See Clearly Now, a song that brightened many a day in a dark (and expensive) time in my life. Ah but that's another thread, songs that saved a wretch like like me -- to borrow a memorable line.

Oh, I'm not. I just have a.....hmm....I'll go with peculiar....taste in music for someone in my demographic.

I would have never. Too syrupy even for my taste.

Speaking of syrupy...

I always kinda liked Spin Doctors... :(

I can't believe we've made it this far into a "Bad Band" thread and nobody has mentioned "Creed." I thought they were fucking terrible.

Just saw Social Distortion two weeks ago and Mike Ness made an off handed comment like, "would ya rather be here tonight or sitting at home listening to someone like... Creed..." I laughed my ass off... My wife... a Creed fan (God help her) wasn't so amused.

I will give my wife credit... I put her right in the middle of the pit and she held her own... even if she likes Creed. LOL.
